Got tracking notification today from Euro Optic. Apparently I was the first pre-order for a 6.5 in FDE. My order was placed on March 2nd.
Can someone who has received one of these things get an accurate weight of the base rifle down to the ounce? Weight without the barrel would be great too.
Good luck next year when arc designs a new one and discontinues all support for that CDG like they left all the nuc and arch owners lol

I was just cruising the ARC website and they still support all of their actions from what I’m seeing spare parts wise.
You can get a spare bolt head for under $200 compared to $1000 for the entire bolt body plus bolt head that AI charges.
Criticizing any company over spare parts support (except for Sig) compared to AI is laughable.
for people like us who actually burn through our guns I'd recommend buying your spare parts in advance, I already have some stuff, it's very cheap from ARC.
back to this gorgeous AI masterpiece that I in no way can afford.
I'm 3 weeks into an unknown wait for a couple of spare triggers and breech rings for my AT's. If I see them by the end of the year I'll be genuinely shocked.

They’re available. You just have to order them months in advance, pay in full (from MHSA), and wait.
Sporting Services UK does a 20% deposit when placing orders but you still have to wait.
That’s because AI is a company that has its roots in Mil and LE contracts. It’s a company that was designed around that platform and branched to civilian market more with things like the ATX and what not
In my opinion it’s one of the things that’s makes them so popular but yet not preferred by prs shooters.
It’s a rifle designed for and proven in combat that branched into civilian market. Not the other way around. So it’s priority naturally will go to what’s kept it alive for this long
Not to mention when companies get contracts in Mil or LE they agree to provide support for those products. So parts and warranty service or even training on the rifles are included in that contract
AI is also I believe a much smaller company than we realize

Back in the day, Mile High Shooting took our names for the left - handed ATs and actually called us when they came.
Today’s a totally different story…
They don’t exactly cater to the peanut gallery any more.
That's the name of the game when you are a third tier customer.
Companies like AI, KAC, HK, etc are there to serve the military first, LE second, and everyone else third.
They make great products, but not the companies to purchase from if you want to feel heard.
Those companies were providers for the military / LE agencies long before Mile High started selling them (referring to AI).

if you're wanting a lefty your best bet is an ARC CDG in the ATX aics.

I will say the cdg is waaaaay smoother than the at-xc. I’m really hoping some break in will smooth it out. I was not really impressed from that aspect, aside from that it’s an awesome rifle and my fir AI. I’m really looking forward to getting some range time with it.
AT-XC LH can now be ordered through our distributors in the USA and in the UK and ROW at the beginning of November.

I owned an axmc so not exactly the same as an atxc but they do smooth out like any action and after just a few thousand normal rounds my old ax felt as smooth as literally any action I've ever touched.
that said, my cdg has the lightened FP spring so it's much lighter cock and close than the ax ever thought about being.
I can’t think of one thing that would justify a $2k price increase other than to say you’re keeping up with overpriced changes.
The AT-X was $5250 when launched, so with the improved action, included forend and hinge you could argue the AT-XC isn't bad value.
But vs buying a AT-X of the used market, it'd be hard to pay the additional price if you find a killer deal.
I would say if you see the bolt heads come out like the magnum and a 223 for instance then I say it be worth it. But currently the Gen 3 is very similar and you can buy extra bolts and convert them to magnum. You can’t find extra XC bolts yet which are different and not compatible with the older designs
The gen 3 are much cheaper on the used market as well

Most people at SHOT didn't realize that the required safety rules of a deactivated rifle meant that AI had to remove the firing pin assembly, and by doing so there's no longer any resistance on opening and closing. The demo rifle at SHOT basically couldn't demo the lightened bolt lift.
I've talked with one other AT-X owner who handled the XCs at MHSA last month, and said he didn't notice much difference. Would be nice to get some empirical numbers describing resistance in pounds.

They updated their action after 10 years of production and running it in 3 different rifles. And rightfully so, they should update it to today's standards. Lighter, safer and "improved"? I expect nothing less. To charge 2K extra for that seems odd to me.
I enjoyed both the AT and the AX. Thought they were beautiful rifles, especially the AT with thumbhole, what a classic looking rifle that was! But that too needed updating. The AT-X however; I always felt that ergonomically better chassis' are available from both MDT and KRG that fit me considerably better in the grip area. I was hoping that the updated ATX would be improved as a whole with better ergo's, not just a modernized action tossed in an old chassis. Bummer!
Someone here mentioned a run of a unicorn rifle; Green thumbhole AT folder with or without updated action perhaps with a sleeker, lower and longer fore end. ....I'd take that without thinking twice. Where do I sign up?
Now I am looking on the PX for a cheap AT, since you all need money for this newest, coolest, overpriced AI marketing wonder

So it’s basically the same weight as the ATX, but with the extra accessories. If it made that weight with a better bag rider, then that would be pretty cool.

Firing pin reset weight. Very similar.
Cock on close atxc is far smoother.
At least the cock on close is better. That ish is annoying on the ATX.
Awesome comparison. That’s how I did it on my AT and my 22 ATX I had. My ATX not as broken in was 12 lbs.
