An old friend of mine that I used to get into some serious shenanigans with designs jet engines (he has a PhD in aerospace mechanical engineering from Princeton) and I keep trying to get him to design me a pulse jet like this guy and he won’t do it. Some bullshit about not wanting to be responsible for my untimely demise.

Made a basic pulse jet with my friend in our teens

Took a fire extinguisher and cut the top off

Strapped a dremel with a 45 degree bevel tip that we used as “points”

I think we wound up using 3 spark plugs from the garage

We could get about 30-40 seconds of pulses about best. First time we had a few in a row it knocked over the snack table we used lol

I might be wrong but I think I remember seeing a plan for a pulse jet engine "The Boy Mechanic" but I don't remember which issue.
