In 10th grade in 79 I broke the ball off my humerus and shoved the bone 4 inches up playing football in second period pe. Couldn’t move my arm at all. The coach said I probably dislocated it and sent me on my way. Spent the rest of the day at school and rode the bus home for an hour. By that time it was hurting so bad I couldn’t mentally do anything. Got home and both my parents were out working cattle so I had to start my Honda 110 three wheeler and go find them. Took 30 minutes to find them and then it was an hour ride to the er. When the doctor gave me that shot of morphine that was the best relief I’ve ever had. Then stayed in traction flat on my back for almost a month. Damn those were the good days.

It's funny because I had the exact same thought when I first heard the story about them being sold: These panels will be sold for pennies on the dollar. It would be hilarious if Trump and Elon bought them anonymously and donated them right back to the border.
When I was about ten (66-67), we lived next door to a red headed kid named Johnny (could be the one we hear about quite often). He told his teacher he was sick, but she didn’t’t believe him. He complained all day, but no dice. My brother and I helped him walk home. By the time we get there he had a raging temp, is puking and crying. His mom rushes to to hospital and they find a ruptured appendix.
A few days later, his mom shows up at the school and tells teacher she probably should be elsewhere when her husband returns from Vietnam. I didn’t know until years later he was SF. We never saw the teacher again. Heard she was fired and moved away.

Circulating on the interweb (which of course makes it true), the drones are equipped with sensors to detect nuclear material. The gov is looking for a dirty bomb. When you think about it, it fits the narrative of the gov playing dumb. "We ain't got a clue". "We can't choot em down". The gov is a lot of things, but they really are not that dumb. They know exactly what is going on.

I swear this whole thing reminds me of the eclipse and people freaking out about that. And the Covid hysteria. It once again confirms the stupidity, gullibility and herd mentality of humans. Mix in with that the obvious desire for drama and you get this. The real problem is that this has shown that a large amount of people can be manipulated through events that leave an air gap for rumors to start, which becomes an echo chamber/feedback loop. This is mental weakness and for quite a few is mixed with emotional immaturity and a lack of logical thought. I would not be surprised if someone somewhere is taking notes on how people are losing their shit and how effective this has been on social media to create that.
People are easily manipulated by the internet. Charles McKay said that people go mad in herds but regain their sanity one by one. He ain’t wrong.

A friend made a suggestion. Adjust the time forward 20 seconds per day for six months, then backwards 20 seconds per day for 6 months. Nobody would feel any change. Everyone around laughed and told him how stupid that was.
Then .. One guy checked the time on his phone, two others had those know it all watches. I check my watch (still has hands and numbers 1 thru 12 in a circle), and figure out I would need to adjust it twice a month, close to what I do now when comparing to my phone. TV, radio, almost everything is controlled by an internet time signal.
Gave his suggestion a little more thought.

Bad idea. If you realized how difficult it is to get time correct and distribute it throughout the systems that are very time sensitive. I’ll give you one small example. At any power plant there are dozens of systems that must match time precisely for them to work together and function properly. I hated when the time changed because it took 2-3 people all day to make sure all the systems transferred to the new time at precisely the same time. If one system didn’t and that was common, we would have to go in and manually adjust the time stamp on the data that was incorrect. I couldn’t imaging doing that on a continuous basis.
