If he resigns or goes out for any other reason right now, that means that the Democratic governor will appoint a senator to finish out his term until 2027.

You are correct. I forgot about that. Right now the Republicans control both houses of the Kentucky State Legislature.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that he was virtually part of the squad until he had his stroke. Maybe it jolted him away from them a bit. 🤣
