I will have to get them out and do a side by side comparison at distance. At a quick glance, I believe it’s worth the $400 upgrade over the NF 7-35.
Is anyone experiencing a "difficult" transition from the 1st to the 2nd revolution on the elevation turret (DTII+), specifically right where the revolution indicator is being deployed?
I've had mine since last Spring. My range is 1626 yds, and ever since I got it I haven't needed to go to the 2nd revolution - until the weather got cold and now with the low DAs I just now started needing the 2nd revolution (just barely into it). I had not noticed this until now because I haven't had to use it until now.
I've only got experience with the original DT turret (I have 3) and their transition to 2nd revolution (indicators going from white to yellow) is pretty seamless. On the DTII, it gets really stiff to turn around 16.0-16.3, so much so that I can't even feel the clicks in that range. This is using the turret with the MTC function disabled, I haven't tried it with the MTC engaged.

I had the same issue with mine. S&B offered to take a look at it but EO gave me the option to send it back so I did. They sent out a replacement.
Pull up slightly on the turret as you tighten the set screws. Mine did that when I pushed down on the turret while tightening the set screws.
I assume the resistance felt at the transition to the 2nd rev is a deliberate design feature rather than a defect. It ensures that the shooter is aware they are entering the second revolution, even in low/no-light conditions, where visual confirmation of the revolution indicator might be difficult. Perhaps someone at S&B can confirm?
Perhaps a little bit of resistance would be useful, but this seems far too much, makes it very difficult to dial precisely to a specific setting over a range of about 0.3 mils in the transition range.
It's not... That's why the pin starts to move up a mil early and is fully protruding when in the second Rev. I got a bunch of these dtii+ scopes none of mine give resistance at that transition.

GENIUS! That's all it needed. I knew I had held a little down pressure on the turret as I tightened the set screws (which I have always done on any scope). So I just now loosened the set screws, eased the turret up the tiniest amount I could feel (not visible - just a few thousandths, to get the pressure off of it), retightened the set screws, and now there is no perceptible feel as the 2nd Rev indicator deploys.

Never had an issue with my DTII+ turrets going into 2nd rev, but great to know about this little trick. Great community here helps save some trips to the warranty depts

Too many companies seem to think a new year means they can just Jack prices up because "well new year higher prices" they don't seem to get that people (outside of the government) don't get more salary simply because it's a new year, if anything a new year means their buying power just went down lower.
At that price folks may as well just get a TT or a ZCO
Let the college marketing pukes that thought up the price hikes sit on their scopes all year and when the actual sales numbers come back to bite their asses, they might be a bit more inclined to think about reality.

Looks like it may just be cheaper to get that reticle changed out after all, if that’s even possible.
I will throw a cat amongst the pigeons.... Consider the DNT 7-35..... I have several and honestly they defy their price tag !!!
I had 2 S&B ,s fail on my 50bmg.... one of the DNT,s now has over Ik rounds on the same 50bmg and not one issue.. Glass will surprise you.... It made me qustion just why i spent SOOOOO many dollars on "Top Tier" optics like the S&B !!
636 TR2ID + DTII turrets is still reasonably priced at scopelist. Can’t seem to get the link to populate, so will just paste it directly.
The thing is that almost everyone knows they were $3.3k (sometimes closer to $3k with a wire transfer payment instead of credit card) so you know, that's the price folks remember and are targeting...
But you might find someone who never kept up with the price drops.

Strange that EO doesn’t even have the 636 TR2ID and DTII combo listed. But like you said, EO and scopelist pretty much one and the same, so not an issue.
I was a big fan of S&B scopes for a long time and have a whole bunch of them still.
But when they changed and made EO the sole USA distributor and jacked the prices way up...
Well that's when March and ZCO and others started showing up in my closet.
From time to time, I'll still buy an S&B scope from time to time, when someone has the P4FL and CW turrents that nobody seems to like and they are willing to sell it for super cheap.
Also the optics clarity on the 5-45 and 12-50 is still very competitive even if the reticles aren't what folks want and the turrents are quite old style.

idk man. I've heard from the pipeline and a few dealers that TTs are going through some serious issues with the erector housings.
At the same time you'd have to be nuts to pay schmidt prices now.
they have raised the prices to help cover the cost of the lawsuit with Swarovski when they ship the full FOV models to the USA next month ...

That's what I've seen with SB pricing - up/down/up/down. Wait it out, they'll come down again when no one is buying.
Germans are arrogant at their core and can't admit their mistakes. HK and Schmidt are prime examples of this.
