Accuracy International Picture Thread

I shot a proof competition contour (PVA Osprey) without issues with the full bridge. I never paid attention to the clearance when I had the barrel but it must be close where minor dimensional differences can mean the parts touch.
After I installed the bridge it looked like there was plenty of clearance, but the bullet and gun said otherwise. I might just be on the unlucky ends of the tolerance spectrum this time.

Great to meet Ray from TBAC this morning and shoot the AX50.

Who’s at Shot?

Grabbed these screenshot, and please please please let this come to the Civvy market
Has AI been butthurt over civ buying LE guns on small town dept letterhead like folks used to do with peq15s and such? There’s nothing illegal or regulated about it right? Does AI make dept sign something saying they won’t resell?

Just curious. Not in market for one

This would be a great question for Mile High. I know they would sell the AT LE with the AX butt stock at times so it all depends I guess?

I don't believe AI has any specific rules. I think MH sets them. An interested LEO would have to ask.

AI's usually pretty good about support for us lowly civilians & not just the overlords... I heard we should be able to purchase an AT-X LE XYZ sometime in Q3.

Q3...in 2028. Approximately 4 months before the AT-XC2 comes out with non-retrofitting parts...

The other issue, is all my barrels 2x factory, 3 Proof Research, and 2 Schneiders sit low and left in the forend. Which makes me think its not necessarily a barrel diameter issue as much as it is a forend alignment issue.
I might try some shims on the rear forend screw, but Im open to suggestions.
It’s simply the way your action is sitting in the chassis. Loosen up all action screws, then try again, this time making sure everything stays aligned while torquing all screws.

How often does AI do a run of 308 bolts for the axsr? I know they're hard to find, just trying to manage my expectations.

Besides the apparently long gaps between production of certain parts at AI, the other thing that doesn't help AI wait times is their ordering system. I'm trying to get some parts for my AXMC right now and Sporting Services UK says AI only accepts quarterly orders from their dealers, and the ordering window at AI is only open for 2 weeks every 3 months... So if you try to special order parts and just miss that quarterly order window you immediately have an extra 3 months lead time added to your order because you have to wait for the next quarterly order submittal.

Seems like a weird way to do business, but that's just my opinion.

Why not run the Atlas Monopod to act as a bag rider?
I’ve been thinking of doing this. Gotta cut the skins, though, and the monopod is not as smooth as the one above (very minor issue for a 500yd dude like me lol).

Does anyone know what drove the redesign of the AT thumbhole rear end? The old design seems like it would handle rear bags better.

I’ve theorized in my head that the larger cutout was to facilitate using the support hand to grab the butt to both control the rifle’s direction better and to make it easier to pull it into the shoulder.

I’m thinking a bunch of scenarios were shooting without a rear bag in improvised positions, off windowsills, etc, where grabbing the butt was more important than ease of use with a rear bag. 🤷‍♂️

Cutting is easy. Just need to be patient and take your time when using files or a serrated knife. Install is easy. Hardest part is taking the bolt for the Monopod to a machine shop if you don't have the right thickness butt pad spacer. But I pretty much use my Monopod as a bag rider for this reason. It also adds counter weight to the rear which is nice.

I have tried this using someone else's AT that was so equipped. It sucked for several reasons. You can quickly adjust a bag using hand pressure, but not so much with the monopod. It does not adjust quickly, and the range of possible adjustments is limited. I'm glad I got to try it before I cut my skins.

As said. Use the Monopod as a bag rider. You only deploy it in emergencies. And there's ways to use the Monopod for quick adjustment... You don't fully extend it. There's a nice video on how this is done:

That's the correct way to use one. Else, it is either used as a static locked Monopod to help with spotting or long term monitoring, or folded and just used as a bag rider when not deployed.

Oh, I know, I just meant if you don’t like the monopod you can’t go back to stock unless you have extra skins (I do). I was just mentioning that for the audience who might not know what is entailed.

Yeah, we’re on the same page. Folded up is how I was thinking of using it. Also, that’s the best vid I had ever found on the monopod’s use, and I believe it was linked from this thread, long ago. Thx for digging it up. Love this place!

I'm just not a huge fan of monopods and I didn't want to cut the skins so thats why I figured I'd incorporate it into the buttpad spacer.
I've never seen one used at a match, but I don't see a lot of ATs at matches, either. To each their own. Another member here already has a product like yours, but it's metal. The concept is excellent. This is how I do it on my AT.

I bought my 308 bolt probably 4 months before I even bought my AXSR. I think they were only in stock for a couple days when I was able to order mine. The struggle is real.
I bought all of the LH bolts and a spare LH shroud/firing pin assembly a year ago. Still don't have the rifle LOL

C’mon man.

You gotta up your tacticool game.

I mean, it’s right there in black ‘n white on the agreement that you signed with your very own mushroom stamp.

Oh I got contingency plans. First option is scope caps. Worst case I remove some of the folder hardware; the locking mechanism. Also could swap the claws for rubber feet. Finally ditch the suppressor cover.

blbennett over at the scales like Earnhardt here in the pits...

Something that I just learned is that you should expect an invoice from UPS if you buy anything from Sporting Services UK for ~8% of the price of whatever you ordered from "Duty Amount" and "Disbursement Fee" charges.

I'm probably just naive but I've never purchased anything from outside the US before so I didn't know that was a thing and it took 5 different transfers within UPS to figure out what was going on. It didn't help that Sporting Services UK didn't use my correct first name so the charges weren't linked to my UPS account.
