New Diamond Rough Trigger

I thought this was a complaint and then a joke. But it’s for real and I have one rifle with the special and it really lags behind the Diamond, so, I would consider this as well. (Especially since I run my Diamonds at eleven ounces.).

Not that I’m not used to lighter pulls. The Del Taylor triggers in our XP’s run right at 2.5 ounces and they don’t have a safety. Funny part, with 39 steel silhouettes down, and one to go for a clean round and a perfect score, that 2.5 ounces feels like 2.5 short tons.

Got the email from Redhawk today for this new trigger. I wish they would be more specific as to why it has "enhanced durability & robustness". The $25 savings is pretty nominal in the scheme of it, but if it truly is more durable I would be tempted to switch.

On the Rough Diamond product page on TriggerTech's website it states

"we’ve also been able to adjust the engagement geometry. The net result is improved robustness and reliability with no compromises on safety"

So some redesign it sounds like.

I’m not the only one that has dealt with the issue but sometimes the (red) Diamond didn’t play well with Impact actions. One non preferred solution was to increase the trigger weight way higher. If not, you would get firing pin follow intermittently. Obviously many did not have issues and you could even argue it was an isolated “trigger issue.” My educated guess is they tweaked the geometry and bumped up the minimum weight to work normally with Impacts.

I have one on my lone peak fuzion that has been through 2 weekend matches. No complaints. Typical, crisp trigger tech break. I switched from a 2 stage diamond which to me felt a bit mushy.

Guess I've been living under a rock. I have 6 diamond triggers and I never paid more than $250 for one. And now there's a cheaper version for $300. Fuck.....
Big rock. Diamonds have been selling for over 300 since at least 2021. Yep, I waited for my last one to come on sale and snapped it up, for about 250, but it was on sale.

A friend had a ton of issues with this (pin following on bolt close). At one point it was doing this when set to ~2lbs pull. The action went back to Tate 3 times and they kept sending it back and saying it was in spec and a user issue. I think they eventually got tired of him bothering them and replaced the action and to my knowledge the new action is doing fine with the standard single stage diamond.

When he had talked to triggertech they essentially confirmed that the rough diamond was intended to fix issues that were being reported with some impact actions.

This would explain that one recent thread where an individual had issues with 3 separate TT triggers in his impact actions.

Yeah, I remember reading that post, but I dont think I responded. Seemed pretty much the same as my friends story, going through a bunch of TTs and different trigger hangers to try and fix it. I wasn't super impressed with Impact's handling of the matter, telling him the gun was fine when it was having an unintentional release every 15 shots.

I never had an issue with the 2S Diamond in my 2022 mfg impact, but I bought a rough diamond on sale for like $230 recently and it seems solid from the one match I have on it. Figured I'd move both my PRS guns to single stages.

Is that why most impact guys run Bix? I see a lot of Bix lovers running impacts also.

Second where had them on sale of that?

I doubt it. I've only personally known one person to have this issue and know many others using red diamonds in their impacts. I don't seen many Bix in general at matches. I've always used TTs in my Impact, but have a BnA on my Prometheus.

TT had a 20 or 25% off sale at vendors for Easter if I remember right. I bought mine through Mile High, but I'm pretty sure EO and others were running the same sale.
