I’m planning a build on a bolt gun 6arc chassis gun bases around the Howa mini action. The chassis I chose is the Accurate Mag sport tac lite. I’m having trouble finding an American made optic in the mid power range from 2 or 3 power at the bottom to 18+ at the top as well as FFP, budget isn’t really an Issue as long as its not 3k +. The reason I want American made is simply because I don’t want to pay for something that a general optics manufacturer in china is making for 10 different brands that all just dress it up differently and add different reticles.

Not too many options.

Leupold MK5 3.6-18 are designed, machined, and assembled in the USA. They import some parts and raw materials from overseas.

Vortex AMG 6-24 is 99.9% made in the USA. Only thing foreign is the reticle which is sourced from Germany.

You’re not really gonna much. Maybe the Leupold stuff but optical quality is ok. The vortex AMG is discontinued now. Go European and you’ll have better luck.

Entirely USA made:
Non illuminated Burris XTR3
USO FDN 17X
Razor AMG

Built in the US:
Nightforce ATACR 4-16 or 4-20
Leupold MK5 3-18

If money isn't a concern, maybe look at ZCO, Schmidt, and Kahles for Euro glass, or March for Japanese glass.
I appreciate it, I was looking into the US optics txh 3-18 but read that it’s made by the same Chinese company that makes the vortex strike eagle. I’m looking into khales as I saw the review Area 419 did on some high end optics

Take Doug up on his offer. He will hook you up with a great price on a nice optic; and will give you several options. CameraLand sells most of the brands mentioned in this thread so he doesn't have to push one brand over the other. Just lays it out straight and you can decide what makes the most sense. I've seen him jump in to help folks on this forum get their optic serviced, even if they didn't sell it. Very few vendors out there will go to that level.

My .02 cents is If you can deal with the 4x on the bottom end, I think the 4-16 ATACR is a better optic than the mk5 3.6-18 if durability is a primary consideration, but either should meet your requirements. To my eyes I can't tell much of a difference in glass quality between the two.

Entirely USA Made: Even the lensed are ground here?

"Entirely" meaning not just assembled in the USA like Vortex, Leupold, or NF. Not sure where lenses are being sourced. USO claimed to have it all from local stuff, but a recent video said "Asia". They may have made some changes in recent production.

Anymore, it's nigh impossible to have everything sourced in the USA.

This is true but the main goal is to get 99% or more of the manufacturing of the optic out of somewhere other than Asia excluding Japan because they make quality glass.

The durability is a consideration but I’m hoping by not cheaping out on a high quality optic will take care of the durability, i mainly would like the 3 power or lower on the low end just because i want to use it for hunting as well and its just that much faster to find a target in the optic with a lower magnification, that being said if the night force has a ridiculously higher fov then that would midigate the need for the lower power.
