Father was nomadic so I have lived in about every part of the country. My first visit here was in 87 and decided that once out of the USMC that I would move here and never leave. I got out in 91 and headed right here. I quickly found out that iffin ya ain't from here (born here) yer a Yankee. Doesn't matter where you're from except for a few states that they use specific terms for like Alabama, Florida and a couple others.@DarnYankeeUSMC , I’m just wondering how someone with “Yankee” in their name is telling people not to move to Tennessee because it’s full.. I will add that the corner around the Bristol area is some of the prettiest country I’ve ever seen. We have a house in Ashe county NC, right beside there. Beautiful place.
My NY accent (down state NYC, Long Island) has never waned. Guy's in my Ladder Company would tell people he's from Northern Georgia.Father was nomadic so I have lived in about every part of the country.
