Presidential Plane Kerfluffle

Probably the largest issue is that Qatar is a Sharia Supremest country that, much like Iran, is not really an ally of the United States. Just like the billions they've donated to American universities, it's hard to imagine this is simply a friendly gesture and that they don't believe, true or not, this buys some influence.

That's why they got that big assed rudder...
And a shit load of trim.
I think it was 5 units of trim for a two engine out go-around....been a few yrs.

Push that foot to the floor and hold it there. You'll be just fine
Not like its a Metroliner, now that was a shit load of rudder.

They developed and delivered the first triple 7 within ~5 years but it's going to take 10 years to build a pair of 747s, at 2bil each, at the request of the President. It's a national embarrassment they can't get this done. BUT then the 777 was in the early 90s when Boeing still had bald white men with glasses and cigarettes doing all the thinky stuff, they probably have a bunch of dumb women and faggots up in there nowadays.

this buys some influence.

If Clintons can have their multi billion dollar charity err slush fund then Trump can accept a 747 from the Arabs

One of my fellow chair force alumni posted the real story on X, and it was picked up by PJ Media:

Bottom line: much ado about nothing; the plane’s been here in San Antonio undergoing refurbishment for over a year, and this deal was actually initiated under Biden’s (supposed) tenure. Sheesh..

Did that training include removal of big, awful smelling, items from your pants after losing 3.
Nope, but did have to change shirts and have a beer after it. plus my leg hurt a little bit.
Def have to be dead on V2 to do it...and maybe get a 300-400 fpm climb out of it.
Very similar to going around on the 72 with 2 out.

Once had an instructor give me an entire pro check with a engine out on the 74.
Did steep turns, stalls and all approaches with one out.
That was before the days of AQP.

Not like its a stock 74.
Just a few more avionics and other assorted black boxes or so I have been told.

Buff driver?
One of my aviation mentors - Navy Captain, Viet Nam vet, former P2V Neptune and P3 Orion submarine hunter pilot, used to tell the tale of a P3 on final approach at a USAF B-52 base. Tower addresses the P3 as "Navy light-aircraft" (the P3 is a 4-engine turboprop nearly as big as a C-130, but this was a common head-game the USAF liked to play with the USN to assert dominance). "Navy light-aircraft, abort approach and initiate a go-around. Await further instructions." The P3 inquires as to why, and is told there is a B-52 on long final with a declared emergency due to an engine-out situation. P3 pilot replies, "Ah, yes - the dreaded 7-engine approach."

I heard this story in the 90’s when I got to my first VP squadron.

Yep. As I said, a "tale" of inter-service rivalry. Probably a grain of truth and the rest for entertainment, but funny nonetheless.

Capt. Billie Del "Bill" Johnson. VP-1. He was an incredible pilot, and recognized by the Alabama FSDO as an FAA Master Pilot. After retirement from the USN he became Chief Pilot for Auburn University's aviation program. I learned so much from him. (And he had an incredible sense of humor). He LOVED flying, and was a humble, friendly guy with no hint of the arrogance that often accompanies one with his accomplishments. I miss him a lot. I used to help him maintain his last plane, a Stinson 108 Station Wagon, and he taught me a lot about flying.

For sure.
The leaders of Hamas do not live in Gaza, they live in Doha, Qatar…. So, it comes as no surprise the Qatari government, the official sponsors and finance operators of the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is one subsidiary, will act as the negotiators for the release of captured Israeli hostages.
Because, of Course – Qatar Negotiating Hostage Swap Between Israel and Hamas
This is really odd, if you understand the role Qatar plays for the USA. If you think of Ukraine as a money laundering operation where U.S. Senators, families or business interests, get U.S. government funds washed through Ukraine and back into the USA, then historically Qatar has been our biggest dry cleaner for decades.
It is well known that the U.S govt uses Qatar as the pivot point for the distribution of covert funds to facilitate the Dept of State, CIA and Intelligence Community operations. Example: We give Qatar money to buy U.S. military weapons, the CIA provides the weapons, then we tell Qatar to send the surface-to-air missiles to Libya (this happened). That’s just one example, and there are dozens of documented instances.

(J Post) – Qatar has reportedly clarified to the terrorist group Hamas, “You are not welcome here,” KAN reported on Friday, citing a source familiar with the matter. This development has reportedly been underway in recent days, three sources told KAN. One source told KAN that this is due to pressure from the US.
