    Hey,

As many saw we had a weekend exploit with a bunch of scammers copying real members and causing some headaches.

One of the things we did was, we went in and recovered several of the hacked accounts and returned them to their owners

So that means, you can't report them from the weekend because nothing is the same. The team is going through and correcting a lot of these problems as we speak and that all started yesterday.

It sucks, they got in and were able to edit their accounts to resemble trusted users, that is part of their game. To ruin the experience for everyone. They (scammers) reported real accounts, spoofed real accounts, and generally just made a mess of things.

We changed a lot, we tied as much down as we can, and we are using the tools at our disposal to remove them. The Logs are being used to sweep the site as best we can. With VPN, AI, and the ability to have unlimited email addresses, it's a game of whack a mole but we are playing it.

Sorry this happened, continue to stay vigilant, but know many of the compromised accounts have been fixed.

Shit happens, thanks for being on top of it.

It’s sad you still need to preach 2FA to people
Password managers creating random generated long passwords that you don’t have to remember, just use the autofill function, are just as valuable.

It’s running the same compromised PW over and over that’s the biggest weakness. I’m guilty of that in the past as well, but realized times have changed and caught back up.

Changing the password always helps, if they broke the password odds are it was in a similar hack, and it worked here.

We did a lot today to curb it, fingers crossed, but I won’t mention what. From a member standpoint we locked down your profile, so beyond a signature you can’t change anything yourself. So no more changing user names.

Beyond the active dormant accounts we don’t see, they’ll pop up and we’ll cut their heads off. Until that time stay frosty

The work the mods do around here to help look out for members is greatly appreciated.

Of course we try to look out for each other but members who don’t frequent the site or px are easy prey. Usually the scammers find a method that works but it gets harder for them to keep repeating it and eventually we see another successful tactic come to life somewhere else. So one must stay vigilant

Again thank you for doing this. I know the px had caused massive headaches in the past to the point it almost got shut down which would really be a shame in todays market

Not a big deal. If I go to a different site and come back later I keep getting this. Occasionally I have to click a box that ask if I am a person.View attachment 8708589View attachment 8708589

The same thing is happening to me, both on my phone and my iPad. I thought it had something to do with the vpn my company recently started making us use to get on company websites, but I guess not, and my phone is doing now too.

Getting the same Cloudflair loop/hangup on a previously for 10 yr reliable Macbook Pro as well as my caveman android phone, all starting yesterday. Tried multiple browsers and router as well as phone hotspot without success. Deleted cache, browser history, cookies, turned off extensions,,,, bupkis. Posting this from an extremely ancient Windows7 PC as is the only device that will load content.

Don't know how to tag the site's tech guru(s) so if someone is able, please pass along.
    Missing the Hide.

    Thank you Sirs! V/r,

    For your expertise…

Also had a couple of strange reactions from the computer on W or Tr. Went to two step. Good move, simpler than I anticipated.

Tried to change password. Now it takes the old password to log in but the one I tried to change to to activate the password change screen when I tried the change again.

And the Cloudfare verify happens a couple times a session.

May have to update the hardware. Anybody need a nice 512K Mac? Keyboard included. Has the external disk drive for extra storage.

    Thank you,
    MrSmith

I get the "Verifying...etc" message on both my iPhone (Safari) and my PC (Firefox). On the phone, I have to check a box...on my PC, it just shows up and then goes away.

    And I have 2FA.

But I'm also getting error messages when trying to post...like this post....took 4-5 attempts. I'm sure Frank the admins are working hard to both protect us (and the site) and still have the site usable...but they seem to be having some challenges
