I have a Varmint that I had threaded for a suppressor. 75gr ELDM at 2.49" (AICS mags) with NAMMO 5.56 brass and H4895, 3025 fps.Does anyone have a 223 CTR or Varmint with a 24" barrel that can comment what velocity can be achieved with 70-90gr projectiles?
And can comment what the heaviest projectile they can run in the 8t barrel, I'm guessing 80.5gr Bergers are the best bet?
Was planning to rebarrel my Tikka but might just buy a 24" factory rifle.

80gr ELDm are hit or miss with the Tikka 8 twists from researching various forums.
Too bad you’re not a righty:Where / Who would I contact for the availability for a replacement bolt for a T3X. I want a LH bolt with a .223 head to replace the bolt with a .308 head.
Thank you
Send it to Kampfeld, Karl will thread 5/8x24 with a collar. My local smith will not do with barrel thickness less than .685-.750 or so. I have to find someone that can do that or a reputable updated barrel that comes with thread. Any suggestions? Thank you.
How does a smith do that, technically? I know they successfully can do that with a pencil barrel, but have never researched how. I’m just curious.Send it to Kampfeld, Karl will thread 5/8x24 with a collar.
Just posting for those that may be looking for one. Rusty nuts designs has these flat triggers for the tikka. Got one for all my rifles.
Possibly better leverage for a lighter consistent trigger pull. Personal preference on looks but it seems to feel more predictable also when taking the shot. What’s the advantage?

I have a 7mag that I never really shoot either. Was thinking of turning it into a 22cm. I have a 6cm and 6.5cm too.I have a bunch of 6.5 Creedmoors, including three Tikkas. Double shoulder surgery led to me dropping down in calibers.
I have a T3 stainless in 7mm Mag. Which I don’t need. Should I
1. Trade bolts and make it into a standard bolt face with a custom barrel like a 6Creed or XC
2.Rebarrel to some other magnum
3. Sell the barrel and think on it.
4. Sell it
5. Open to ideas.
Sell it and buy an appropriate action, no brainer, you can’t stretch it.I bought a t3x lite 300wm - then found the mag is only 3.350 shorter than even a sav mag. I read through some post here on aics mags and bottom metal where you cut the trigger face down and notch feed ramp -or not- to get to 3.500- sav mag length. which is still too short imo. maybe I didnt read enough post or misunderstood - is there no other options ? if not I may sell it without shooting it and move on back to Remington. any advice appreciated tia
Once again, sell it, and buy or build something you want, don’t throw good money after badI have a bunch of 6.5 Creedmoors, including three Tikkas. Double shoulder surgery led to me dropping down in calibers.

Put a 6.5 PRC barrel on it, recoil isn't that bad compared to a 6.5 Creedmoor.I have a bunch of 6.5 Creedmoors, including three Tikkas. Double shoulder surgery led to me dropping down in calibers.

Well don’t leave us in suspense, what did you buy?Just selling it won out.
Ya got lucky with that one!Probably the world's most accurate Tikka T3 rifle, with the factory barrel.
6 x 5 shot´s average 0.365 MOA @100m.
123gr Scenar and VV N160 46gr, velocity average 2,952 FPS.

I have two Tac A1's that both seem well made. They also shoot best with a suppressor on, I'd say a solid 1/3 MOA if I do my bit. They seem to like Lapua bullets, I need to try some of the MaxRange Target bullets in them.Yeah, i think that this is the old Tikka T3 line.
They made these with better care and better quality control than now days.
This is also stainless, it is just cerakoted to black.
123gr Scenar does work very well up to 500-600 meters.
But i must say, that this and my all other rifles are way more accurate with the Ase Utra SL5i suppressor on the barrel.
It is 100% stainless steel, it just make my rifles so much better, all of them.
I now have 3 of these.
They are selling ace 223's. Euro optic has them.Afternoon… I am looking for a new, CTR in 223 caliber… are they selling this rifle in the U.S.?? If so ,, where??
Thanks,
Charlie112
Jason,
Seeing that they don't really seem to be available right now, I figured that is the closest that seems available. Figured you were wanting the heavier barrel and the 10 round mag. Those are the only ones that match. If you want to save some money lockedloaded.com has decent deals. Bought a few guns from them and had my coworker who has his ffl do the transfer.Jason,
I was on the road and didn’t have time for a appropriate response… I know about the aces.. I was interested in the CTR…I didn’t know if they are available… Thanks, Charlie112

ThanksASE Utra.
I have two of the Jet-Z models. Best cans I have ever used.
So not only not available to us (both us and USA), but super not available to us.This is not a Ase Utra suppressor.
It is another Finnish company, Oulun Työstökeskus ArmaSe-T.
It is a proto version with a muzzle brake, not a production model.
