I couldnt watch it all, he's repulsive, but he is right in one aspect. In most of the inner cities there are 'Food Deserts' where the only groceries available are 7/11' and such. That makes the price of eating much higher, and the quality and choices much lower. I heard the interview of a black woman who held two jobs to support her family. The only grocery store was a 45 minute each way bus ride. After 2 jobs she just didnt have the energy for the bus ride so they mostly ate expensive, unhealthy, crap.
I dodnt have an answer, but it was a sad story.
And why are there "food deserts"? Because the Amish rob them into closure.
I've seen reports of successful food co-op garden projects in cities. I'd rather see investment in these giving people more independence than investment in ways to make people more dependent on .gov
Partly but not entirely. Thats a current trend. Most left in the 70's when white flight took the jobs and money. Regardless, it makes it really tough for the decent ones.

The only places that will run there are super small footprint places run by aspiring immigrants who sell stuff on a high enough margin that they have the robberies and shoplifting built into the price tags.
No one drew a red line around those shitholes…. But no actuary is going to run the numbers and say “Let’s build a Piggly Wiggly here.”
So, fine… try putting in your communal grocery store. It will be looted and burned before you can say “I can’t breathe.” By the very same people demanding a grocery store.

Thats not the reason for the problem, at least not in the beginning. Like I mentioned above, it began 50 or so years ago with 'white flight' which took the jobs and money to the burbs. Lack of jobs/work/ opportunities and It went down from there to where it is now. There are almost always more than one reason for a problem/
But its so much easier to jsut shit on the 13%
12 million people in metro New York. On 24 square miles of concrete. You could not grow enough food there for one big high rise. The coop gardens are window dressing and an absolute joke. But they do love to brag on them!

Then then someone sold their house. The government shut down Fulton bottom projects about maybe 10 miles away by the crow and gave everyone a 1-1/4% interest loans and white flight hit. Went from 100% white to 99.7 black and of the "then" hood rats variety. This was back around 70 or so. My parents had chain link fencing around the front and back yard. So I went from basically care free to being a prisoner of that yard in my free time. Mom flipped out, I was in late elementary school, parents put my brother in a Christian school. We finally moved when I was around 14 15 years old.
Roving packs of 4 or 5 hoodies wondering around the roads and a white kid on a bike don't mix. I have a little different perspective on how racism can be brought on.

We helped build one in a vacant lot in Pittsburg seversl years ago. It was pretty cool. The lady who organized it owned the lot so it was nothing sketchy. The city declared it derelict and confiscated it even though it was an mini food forest that the community was using

In certain areas that are predominately amish, the stores get looted but also daily suffer expensive loss through theft. So, the stores have to close down those locations. That is not "racist," that is fact. It has nothing to do with "white flight" back in the 70's, either, as has been posited. Whites leaving a neighborhood has zero affect on whether or not a person steals food or not. And certainly, it is not a contributing factor. To say the thefts would drop if whites moved back in the neighborhood is racist. Plenty of people leave a neighborhood in the city to get to the house they have worked so hard to buy. Others may leave precisely because to stay is dangerous.
That would mean that only whites keep a neighborhood safe. For the umpteenth time, it is not skin color, it is culture. And the most racist of all are the ones called "amish." Every time the culture at large absorbs one of their slang words or fashion, they immediately drop it and go to something else, driving themselves to always be different. Saying "black culture" is racist. For the love of God, can anyone person for once stop separating people by color? Just once, for at least 10 damn seconds.
Probably not. And is the culture tied to genetics? In the northern hemisphere, the growing season is short. You have to learn to farm and get along with each other and get supplies to get through the long and cold winters. You have to plan ahead and curb the appetite for instant gratification. As opposed to being in an area of temperature to hot conditions where food, mostly wild, grows year-round. So, you don't farm. You excel at hunting game. And when you need resources, you capture and kill an enslave neighboring tribes for their resources. We have seen that modernly in Zimbabwe and now in S.A. People being endangered because they are white and someone wants their resources with earning or buying it. And no, the white farmers did not steal the land. They bought it from the PTB at the time.
The entitlement programs have only made things worse and this is what Thomas Sowell was trying to get across in a number of his books, including "Black Rednecks and White Liberals."
Before Pres. Johnson's entitlement program, black families had to work as hard as anyone else. And did. Successful businesses. Better performance in schools. Often in schools that were predominately black. It just happened to be in the neighborhood and excellence was expected and misbehavior was not tolerated. If you did not get a paddling at school, you got one from some adult that as a guardian of you.
So, the people in the food deserts will have to fix this themselves.
