Accuracy International Picture Thread

Took my 79 year old dad out today. He is going through treatment for prostate cancer and I wanted to make sure he got some trigger time.

My dad is the man. Not only is he the most humble ans generous man I’ve ever met, he’s a badass. He was my scoutmaster growing up and helped me get my Eagle Scout. He is a Silver Beaver in scouting and taught me so much. Taught me how to shoot. How to hunt. How to work. How to be a man. He taught me to give my word and keep it. Thanks dad. Nice shooting as always.

He was part of the army marksmanship unit and is an absolute animal when it comes to iron sights. When he gets out his 1942 Springfield M1 Garand we are all in trouble.

We had a 20mph wind and it was rainy today but given the chemo schedule it was today or not at all. Well the clouds opened up for us to shoot for an hour or two. Then it poured again. 510 yards. Couldn’t miss the 12x16 plate. The smile on his face after connecting on his first shot and hearing the “ding” was priceless. I am thankful for quality equipment that made it so easy to make him smile.

Your gunna regret selling this ask @Krob95

I doubt anyone has checked this, but does anyone know the weight difference between the axsr buttstock and the atx buttstock? I've considered adding the axsr to my atx, but not sure how much I'll like it if it's a lot heavier than the atx.

Is Mountic Outdoors gone?

I was going to go look at their AI parts but the website is gone and their FFL expired on May 1st. I was wrong about the FFL as I found an updated one linked to below with a different address…sorry!!!!!

Their Instagram is gone too.

You'd think it would at least come with the folding hinge at that price point.

Between my ATX chassis and AXSR, both stocks feel pretty much the same to me although the ATX buttpad is starting to peel off the plate for some reason. But I guess there's worse pits that you could throw money into.

If you're using an AXSR, you'll want the .308 bolt body or complete bolt assembly. It's not a system that utilizes interchangeable bolt faces like Zermatt or something. If you're asking about how simple it is to swap the firing pin assembly into different bolt bodies, it should take you about 30 seconds - that's including time for me to fumble it around and drop it a couple times.

Keep in mind that your AXSR is a long action rifle, so bolt throw issues will not exist in this instance. Your issues will arise in choosing the correct magazine for this round. As they likely won't fit in .308 (short action) magazines, I'd start to look at how well it would fit in the .300WM or .300PRC magazines and hope/tweak for the best. Considering any magazine issues or hesitancy to modify them, find a single shot sled from MK Machining or possibly @pfl338 and single feed them.

The barrel is absolutely doable, you'll just need a blank of your choosing with an M30 shank and the phone number of a competent gunsmith, of which there are plenty on this site.

The above is good advice. The barrel will be easy. Find one worth a 1.35" shank and lots of options for smiths do chamber or for you.

The magazine will be a problem in guessing. The smaller case might or might not work with the prc magazine, I'm guessing it will not. So you might be able to tune the lips to work, but it also might not. The LA 280ai will not fit in the magazine designed for the 308/6.5.
Thank you both very much!
