    It was pretty much public property up until the late 80's/early 90's. I went there regularly fishing and hunting in my youth. Then suddenly nobody could go there anymore without paying a multi-thousand $$$ membership.

    They are probably selling because of the proposed Carbon Capture BS that the state sold out for. Currently Louisiana looks to be the proposed main dumping ground for CCS and to do it the state plans to use eminent domain to take the lands for private corporation use to include private foreign corporations. The people down here are trying to fight it but the state legislators are already in bed with these corporations. It's a dirty, corrupt world down here!
