Opt out of spam messages from Alexj-12 ?

I reported the messages and asked to be removed from the mailing list.
I got a really stern response from an admin that they're automatic, I can't be removed, and to not report them again, OR ELSE!

Funny enough, I don't think I've gotten another one since then. I'm not saying to do what I did, but... 🤪

Came here to finally create this thread and I'm glad someone else has spoken up. I have all but stopped engaging with the site due to the un-optional spam. I get that you're trying to monetize, but this shit is more annoying than the entertainment value of the content here. I had 6 admin messages queued last month, and currently have two messages, a banner, and now notifications for messages. At this point, any alert from this site is meaningless which is a shame because there were two threads I liked to follow, but thread engagement is now lower than the stupid admin messages.

Please don't drive people away.

I was curious, so I took a look at how many members are here: 208,000. It's been several years since I noticed that, and I recall it being in the 220,000 range several years ago.

Part of the issue Frank is dealing with is AI; forums are going to be a thing of the past soon, so I'm sure that is driving his diversification with things like Hide TV. That said, the utility of this forum has declined; the content of posts is lower quality than it once was, and I believe some of that is driven by the over-monitization. Frank is a greedy dude, and that is going to bite him in the ass soon.

A bright spot for Frank is the growing extremist community in the Bear Pit, so he's got that going for him. I'm sure he'll find a way to monetize that, maybe selling them special supplements or prepping gear, think Alex Jones.

Instagram & Facebook are killing forums more than AI
Yeah, I don't know. I know one data point, me. Before the AI summary thing, if I wanted to learn something related to the topics on this forum, I would Google the term and then Snipers Hide. Usually, I'd get several helpful links on this forum for what I was looking for. Today, I just google the term and started reading the AI summary, then linked off from there. The AI summary is changing internet traffic.
