I was curious, so I took a look at how many members are here: 208,000. It's been several years since I noticed that, and I recall it being in the 220,000 range several years ago.Came here to finally create this thread and I'm glad someone else has spoken up. I have all but stopped engaging with the site due to the un-optional spam. I get that you're trying to monetize, but this shit is more annoying than the entertainment value of the content here. I had 6 admin messages queued last month, and currently have two messages, a banner, and now notifications for messages. At this point, any alert from this site is meaningless which is a shame because there were two threads I liked to follow, but thread engagement is now lower than the stupid admin messages.
Please don't drive people away.
