Time to compare this weekend.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think
I didn’t get one of their recommended tools to tightened down the lock ring. The spanner I have doesn’t get a good bite into the shallow notches in their lock ring. So for now I’m going to use the lock ring from the RX Comp and swap it back back and forth. It works just fine.

Took the brakes out to test this morning as planned. I used the same rifle weighing in at 12 lbs 5.2 oz. The weight includes the bipod and is +/- 1 oz or so depending on the brake. Ammo was the same as well with 6.5CM factory Hornady 140 ELDM at 2728 fps avg.

I only shot at 200-ish yards but backed the power down to 4x so I could have a wider field of view to see what the reticle was doing in relation to the target.
The SiCo brake was a little softer and did a good job at keeping the reticle flat enough. Post shot recovery was fine. The RX Comp definitely had a bit more felt recoil but stayed flatter. Between the two it felt like it had more of a downward push. If you watch the videos I linked and really pay attention, you can see a very slight downward push on the Comp. Without ear pro the SiCo brake was a tiny bit easier on the ears.
The winner for me is the RX Comp but the SiCo brake also does the job well for $170 retail.

How do you think they compare to a theorem brake? In PRS context

For PRS I think either will be fine with a lightweight rifle (Sportsman Division). They seem comparable for the most part with some subtle differences at least for me. Use either on a heavyweight 6mm variant and I doubt there will an OMG this is soooo nice experience. They’ll be close enough.

Do you guys think the SiCo brake would be worth adding to an Omega if I don’t plan on using it on my Magnums? I have a much larger KGM338 for those. The omega currently gets used for the wife’s 6.5cm and an AR10 in .308. Do you think I’d notice a difference in the medium calibers?

I haven’t tried the new SiCo brake with the Omega. I have used my Omega with the RX 3-port brake with my 7mm SAW. I used it at an NRL match and it made a difference to me. I was able to spot my impacts.

I have been running the original RecoilX brake on an Omega 300 ever since its introduction on a 6 Dasher PRS rig with good results - no concussion and I can see impacts, etc. Bought the new RecoilX2 (Comp?) at its release and ran it Saturday (August 23) at the Coleman's Creek regional PRS match - one of my best regional finishes (I am a mid pack guy). Subjectively, the RecoilX version 2 has less muzzle rise and less recoil but more noise (still not like brake only) versus the original RecoilX.

Been running ear plugs while practicing with RecoilX or RecoilX2 - at match I had to switch to ear muffs as the traditional braked rifles in my squad were rocking my world.

I plan to stick with the RecoilX2 and Omega for rest of season and next season.
