Long answer: I never keep anything for very long, and ordering a 16" carbon barrel in 25 creedmoor just didn't seem like a great move for resale purposes, so I went 18" that way it can be run on any ATX or AT. I can easily pick up a 16" barrel on the used market in a more common caliber if I feel the need to go shorter.

I would suspect the Hornady powder formula considering the component problems since COVID, however, almost 3100fps from a 225gr 30cal is not where I want to be.
My average MV from the Hornady is 2829 fps. I think the issue is soft brass leading to expansion directly forward of the case head groove. The cases expand to the high side of a SAAMI spec and my chamber is probably on the low side of the psecification which causes the hard bolt lift.
