New CA budget proposal included a mileage tax. As people would revolt over paying an extra 6-10 cents a mile on top of the gas tax and carbon offset tax, they want to tax new homes/ condos/ apartments and the fee will be paid over 30 year mortgage payments.
Why should you care? If it survives in CA, it will get national push

i saw this same kind of thing decades ago...
i was fired after i confronted a "doctor" that had ordered a cat scan on a dying liver cancer patient.
the patient was "no-code", meaning if he went into cardiac or respiratory failure, they would let him die.
well, the patient coded 1/2 way through, and the "doctor" told the nurses and techs to finish the scan so they could bill it.
i went off...and then got fired.
this was back when almost everyone was 20/80, so the family would be paying for some of that scan on their dead father.
I identify as a raincloud.....respect my diversity or else.

I’ve been reading/listening to a lot of stuff, pretty sure he only had a couple years left on his contract. Late night TV is near dead and been on the decline for a decade or more. Kimmel was warned multiple times to STFU about Kirk possibly from advertisers bitching. He was told what was needed to keep his job and he refused. He quit with extra steps pretty much. Kimmel got to go out looking like a hero martyr to the left and I wouldn’t be surprised if he writes a check for the hundreds of people on his team as they all became unemployed immediately when he was fired again looking good to his people.
The guy made $15,000,000.00(and it may be more) a year and been on that show over 2 decades. It’s not hurting him getting fired really it’s theatre. He can go the rest of his life being rich and blaming trump for him getting fired a few years early.
