I sure hope God doesn’t see me when he looks at the Cross. If so he will see a grossly insufficient sacrifice.

Don’t need works? Well, if I tell you the building is on fire, and you can smell the smoke and feel the heat will you DO anything? Or just express your belief in said fire? No, works alone won’t save you, but obedience to the plan of salvation could be classified as works. Theologically I don’t agree with MacArthur about a lot of things, but his video explaining about works after salvation is correct. Works alone are not going to save your soul from hell, but if you believe then there will be works that follow. “These signs shall follow them that believe…”
Does God even look at the cross? What need would He have for doing that? Not saying for fact whether He does or doesn’t. I contend that He looks at WHAT He did on the cross (no, he didn’t tell his Son to go do His dirty work like some unjust father). He looks at His sacrifice, and He looks at His blood from the body that He created and dwelt in. When he looks at any of us He either sees His blood or He doesn’t depending on if we’ve repented and had His blood applied to our lives-just like the Passover exemplified all the way back in Exodus.
You are right on 1 count. We don’t deserve it, but due to Gods grace. those who believe in Christ Have been made righteous through Christ sacrifice. What was meant for us, Was poured out on Jesus for our past present and future sins. Do say otherwise would be to discount Christs sacrifice on the cross as “not good enough”..

Yessir! Those are good scriptures that I believe wholeheartedly. I just don’t believe the part MacArthur said about God seeing me when he look at the cross.
I could be wrong.
But yes I do believe Jesus took our place on the cross. A punishment I certainly deserved!
