They should be able to skip Ukraine and just destroy most of western europe. Poland and other former subjects of communism may have something to say about it.
The Europeans are salivating at the chance for a new big war.
I'm betting they are going to get it with a series of false flag attacks.

Then Russia will have to decide to either hand out nukes to all of Europe or become a colony and puppet state of the USA.

I hope that is not something to worry about because my worry extends past the US and Russian Federation. There are several other nuclear capable countries in the region including UK, France, Pakistan, India. N.Korea and Israel too but they would likely remain out of play unless they become entangled.
I think several other dominoes would be unstable and unpredictable enough to tip over and things would quickly get uncontrolled.

If you think that is because they are out of supply/inventory, I think you would be incorrect.
Some say they are not throwing their best tech and best top tier fighters into Ukraine except as testing and experience samples. Why should they expend their main inventory reserves when they can purchase or trade for all the ammunition they want to blow in Ukraine?
In the mean time, we've had US Marine live fire training cycles hobbled due to so much of our inventories of 105 and 155 arty being sent to Ukraine. Our guys literally couldn't train with live ammo.

Speculatively Russia has far more mineable raw resources than us within it's own borders. It also has a still somewhat intact and functioning industrial base.
