well ive never had a bad experience with shipping stuff until now, I sent my bolt off to Mark at SAC and he mailed it back USPS. got an email saying it was delivered on march 8th with delivery confirmation, after fighting them for the past few days the mail lady finally admitted that she put it in the wrong box, cant remember what one she put it in, somebody got it and has not returned it! sucks cuz i just got my new hs precision stock, and swfa 5-20 and havent even got to use them yet!

Re: my first bad experience

USPS I don't trust with anything anymore unless I have to mail to a PO box. Had money orders "LOST" with tracking and you can't even file a claim to get your money back for 45 days.

BS if you ask me.

Good luck,
Merritt

Re: my first bad experience

that will make the ole lady happy.

Re: my first bad experience

no insurance on shipping? the postal lady cant recall what box it was put in? can you go to that person?

Re: my first bad experience

If using USPS, I always try to do Priority with insurance if high value and always delivery confirmation. I have had them "mark it" delivered to make the 3 day but not actually deliver until the next day. That caused an issue when you think it was stolen from the step.

Re: my first bad experience

That is a bummer. Hopefully that person has a concience and returns the bolt that was delivered to the wrong address. My post office did this to me but thankfully the lady that got the wrong packages returned them within a day and all was well. I was bummed out for those 24 hours though.

Re: my first bad experience

I love shipping..... I bought a Falcon Menace off here a few weeks ago. It was shipped to me Fedex, showed delivered and signed by someone who's name wasn't even close to mine. After 5 days of calls, the driver "remembered" he left it at another location. Hope your bolt shows up!

Re: my first bad experience

SAC needs to file a claim with the Post Office.

USPS may have lost it, but SAC as the shipper owns the responsibility of getting the item to it's customer. I have had to deal with this in the past. I ate a $500 order because it was stolen on the far end and I didn't have signature confirmation on the delivery. Had to make it right for the customer and suck up my loss.

Re: my first bad experience

I had a Kowa Prominar 883 lost by the USPS! That's a $2,000 spotter! Same thing... it showed as delivered at 10PM. The gate to our facility wasn't even opened at that time. It turns out that shipping was short paid and they held the package. It turned up after about a week, but believe me, I was sweating.

There is still hope!

Re: my first bad experience

I prefer ups over USPS any day. No to say they have never screwed anything up.

I had a ups driver going through our boxes, changing invoices, putting items he took on backorder. Took about 3 months and over 100K in merchandise for the FBI to catch him. Like I said, never ever ever have a problem with Registered Mail. Anybody ever have an issue with Registered Mail?

Re: my first bad experience

The only problem I've encountered with UPS is they like to smash boxes. Ive received several orders in the las six months that have had boxes smashed significantly. Luckily, the contents have been well packed an have arrived undamaged.

Re: my first bad experience

well as luck would have it, post office called and gave me an address of where it might have went to, gonna go by there in a few min and see if by chance they have it. the thing that kills me is this is on the 8th, do people really have no respect of going in ASAP and saying they this is not mine, or just saying F*** it just throw it on the counter and let it sit.

And how was a UPS driver putting items on backorder? That makes no sense.

Re: my first bad experience

It seems as if he was replicating the invoice to show a certain item was put on back order.

For example, if you ordered 3 nightforce scopes, he would take one, and make his own identical invoice that shows 2 shipped and 1 on backorder, instead of 3 shipped like the original invoice says. That way when you get only two scopes you say "oh, looks like I'll get the other one soon" when in reality you got all 3 to begin with, the driver just helped himself to one.

Re: my first bad experience

glad he got caught, thats a lot of merchandise to be stealing from honest people

Re: my first bad experience

He just scratched out the amount shipped, did the math for what he was taking and hand wrote the amount shipped and backordered on the invoice. Billing caught it when the reciever faxed their copy of the invoice to us a month or so into his theivery beginning. Took about two weeks to get him RED handed cause he was greedy. UPS was very helpful and their insurance covered us, but sheit can happen. Just never with Registered Mail.

Re: my first bad experience

The USPS is really starting to blow. I have had things lost that I shipped to members here, I refunded there money no questions asked. And I have had members ship me things that was lost and they made good. It is good to see good honest people here. I hope the person that got your bolt makes good. If not, Karma will get them. And the USPS wonders why they are tanking.

Don't worry USPS will probably reduced down to a skeleton crew within the next three years.

Re: my first bad experience

with USPS, always, always, always ship priority mail, with deliver confirmation and at least $100 insurance no matter what it is. Insured package always make it to their destination in my 8 years experience shipping with them, they lost a few uninsured one but never an insured one. the delivery confirmation is to make sure the recipient received it so he cannot say he didn't and screw you.
hope this helps.

hold on, did I read that right? The USPS called you and said, "Hi sir, we fucked up. We think your package is here. You can go find out for sure." Was this USPS being assholes, or was it an issue of you couldn't wait until they got around to it, and so they said here's the supposed address?

Re: my first bad experience

USPS is only as good as the MORONS handling the package along the way. Same with any delivery service, actually.

Hope you get your bolt, but it looks like you've got a neighbor problem.
