"250.00 bucks!!!!! you trying to rip a old man off you snotty kid" lol i think that's reasonable price for a NAM VET who "Has 5 purple harts" lol his birth dated is xx/xx/1959 so he was 16 when it ended?? i asked him wasnt it over in 1975? he said we didnt pull out till the 80's. Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

i assemble and trouble shoot AR"s too, but it was a hobby i did for freinds, when i started getting friends of friends who acted like that i stopped. i usually didn't charge anything but a case of beer for my time and i still got dickheads telling me the parts they needed to buy were too much. well fuck you and take it somewhere else. so now i am really specific on who i build for, its not hard and people can do it themselves.

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

It doesn't matter what business your in, you have to learn that in some cases your better off firing the evaders of Natural Selection then doing the work. Think of it like this... You do the job and don't charge him what you should. A month later that jackwagon will still be dissatisfied and bad mouthing you. When his shit breaks because he's a fucking moron he'll tell everyone it's because you did the work blah blah blah... Now imagine this, you say "I'd love to help you but I have real clients that actually want to pay me what I'm worth and your not one of them, so take your parts and go Youtube yourself." Then what's he got to bitch about? Nothing... because even an idiot isn't going to tell his few other idiot friends that he was refused service for being cheap...

I get the same crap Broker when I'm fixing PC's or networks for people.

I have a computer going in the dumpster b//c the guy never came by - his life pictures on a datastor...$100 is all I ask for data recovery...

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

Thanks for reminding me why we took down our shingle.

The world of computer repair is way awesome like that. "Hey I have this 12 year old computer running Win 98 and Ive never used Antivirus or defrayed it. All my wife's Facebook pictures are on here, can you fix it for $25?"

I agree with what the other guys said, just turn him down. After you work with the public long enough, you realize that some people just aren't worth your effort.

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

I have also learned, the guys that come in bitching about price, are also the first ones that are going to run you through the ringer and hang you out to dry when somthing dont work out the way they think it should. You are better off standing around doing nothing than doing work for some people. (I am not in gun repair, but do service/repair work for the public.) They always tell you how easy it is. I have said before "if its so easy do it yourself!!!"
Oh well; just part of the game.

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

I've come to the conclusion that you have to look at the world with the philosophy that when making decisions about what kind of stupid you are dealing with, you just make an educated guess as to the "most stupid" thing someone could do/be then multiply that by 10 and you will be somewhere close. In Engineering we say that if you think you have made something "idiot proof" then you have'nt met the right idiot.
But I'm an optimist so i could be wrong....

ps. i agree, tell the guy to get lost

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

Lol this is why I tell no one my trades and tell "friends" of friends to pay top dollar or fuck off.

I agree.

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

If he's too stupid to understand that mil. spec and commercial AR parts are not compatible, he probably shouldn't be "the loose nut" behind the trigger.
How many fucktards does it take to get to the center of the gun control issue?

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

I built a PSA/Rainier Arms for my brother's room mate since he was there and wanted to know the process. I got a case of beer out of it and although he paid more then he wanted to we got him the best parts for reasonable price.

If the people will listen to my advice on which components to use I'll take the time to help them all out. So far it's been him although others have asked. Until they start showing the green I'll tell them what I think but won't spend much more then that on them. I've had too many tire kickers, but that's what I get for imparting my knowledge with others.

Re: "hey can you fix this" says the guy

i sent this pic to about 10 of my buddies, its been a good laugh. i know how you feel i do local AR work in my home town and have seen some interesrting builds but this one takes the cake. Good luck to you!!!! Thanks for your service!!!!

If he has to ask how much, then show him the door.
He fucked it up in the first place and then bitches about your price? First class PRICK!!

Good luck with that "Zombie Hunter"

I know all to well the pitfalls of working with the public. A long time back I used to work in finance. I recommended for one of my clients to refinance his mortgage and sent him to his CU because they had the best pricing. After the refi he called me up wondering why his new mortgage was for 30 years and not the 25 that was left on his old one. He just couldn't wrap his head around it.
