Alright guys, finally got the video of the FSC tiebreaker this afternoon from Dan, and edited it up a bit. Here we are:

Re: SHWW Group

For those of you interested in F-Class over here on the 'dry' side... Rattlesnake Mountain (just north of the Tri-Cities) is ramping up their F-Class program this year. Below is the text from an email they sent out recently. I'd strongly encourage anyone with any interest in F-class, particularly long-range F-class, get to one of their matches (especially the state LR championship in June).

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
George Crawford & I just wanted to make sure our everyone is aware of the upcoming F-Class matches at Rattlesnake. Please forward this anyone you think may be interested. The match programs can be found on our website at http://www.tcsa.info/HighPower.htm . Feel free to contact me should you have any questions, or need more info.

· Saturday, May 12th, we are holding three individual Registered F-Class matches at 300, 600, & 600 yards, along with a aggregate of the three matches. After the match we are holding a informal long range practice from 800, 900, & 1000 yards for those who want to stick around.

· May 18th, 19th, & 20th the TCSA is sponsoring the Washington State Palma Championship, to include categories for both F-O & F-TR. F-Class targets will be used, and scores will be reported to the NRA. Awards will be given if we can get at least five entries in a Category.

· Sunday, June 10th, Gary Meerdink & I are holding a informal Open Any Rifle Prone match at 300 & 600 yards, followed by a long range practice from 800, 900, & 1000 yards.

· June 23rd & 24th the TCSA is sponsoring the Washington State F-Class Championship. A 1KYD practice will be held Friday afternoon, June 22nd. We are currently fine-tuning the details of this match, but the basic course of fire won’t change (three 20 round individual 1KYD matches on Saturday, followed by two more 20 round matches on Sunday, with aggregates for both days and the weekend).

Take care, and thanks for helping spread the word.

Re: SHWW Group

Seriously though.... Scott, your comment made me go back and watch closely. It's cool to be able to analyze a bit of film.

If you start at about 8:35, you can see how important the "fundamentals of marksmanship" are, even at 375 yards. If you look closely, as I get into position, just before taking the first shot, I twist my upper torso a bit to the left, to push the butt left, and swing the barrel to the right, and obviously, from my perspective, onto the target.... my hips never moved... in essence, I'm forcing that hold through muscle tension... it is not a natural point of aim.... Result = 2 Misses - Both of which were just off the left edge - Where my NPA wanted them to be.

After that second miss, you see me actually move my hips... ever so slightly... but it's there nonetheless... Devil's in the details....

Re: SHWW Group

Great to see it again in real time.

Chad good point on your positioning and even better realizing what you we're doing wrong on the fly and correcting it. Breathing and bolt manipulation look awesome though !

Pat IS pretty quick on the trigger!

I think he shot one of JTP's stages at the FSC in half of the alotted time. Not quite full auto, but I think there was a time or two that he had two or three pieces of brass airborne at the same time....

Re: SHWW Group

Well while we are on the subject of pistols. How would you guys feel in there was pistol mixed in the next FSC?? Not a bunch and not bullzeye stuff more minute of a man speed style stuff, say maybe 8 double tap targets???

Re: SHWW Group

Hello everyone, I'm new to this group and new to long range shooting. I live in Bellingham and I can see by just scanning through some of the posts that there are matches in Wenatchee. Is there a schedule anywhere of the shoots and the types and calibers of guns that can be used. Any other info on shoots and locations would be appreciated, and I don't mind a couple hours in the car. Thanks

<span style="font-weight: bold">Sounds like FUN!</span> I'll bet I can get some quick misses in with the best of them!(I'm a really poor shot with the pistol..may have something to do with age, eyesight, reflexes, and ability or lack thereof).

Pwizl, welcome aboard SHWW, keep an eye on this thread and you will find out about the shoots that come up on a regular basis. There is a monthly shoot in Wenatchee that member JLR ramrods and posts up info on, registration etc. Team-Send-it usually runs a couple of matchs a year that you'll see info on this thread and the Tac.Comp. threads. Plus other annual matchs.

I'm in the same area as you are, there are some informal get togethers at times in the hills above Acme, usually posted up here or on the Puget Sound Area shooter thread.

Welcome. There's a monthly match here in Wenatchee this sunday. Pretty informal, but well run. Look http://www.ncwgunclub.com/main/calendar.php here for more info.

Re: SHWW Group

Hello all, another new guy checking in. I'm pretty new to the L/R stuff as well and looking to stretch out and learn.
I have been limited to 200 yards so far, but i'm not afraid to travel to the dry side for some L/R learning!
I have a decent rig and some good handloads, i just need to get the work in.
I will be watching this thread.

Re: SHWW Group

For anyone near or around the Olympia area, Stokes Auction is liquidating "Big Toys" today at 11am. There are all kinds of work benches, materials, and heavy duty shop equipment up for grabs.

Small turn out (12 shooters) but lots of fun.
Match went fast, so I ordered pizza and set targets at 950 for some after match activities.
The guys flung lead and copper at steel for another hour or so and I was able to eat pizza between primer strikes and dirt/and or steel impact, when the 308 shooters lobbed in their projectiles.

We had a blast. It was relaxed and enjoyable. The weather was great, and the company was better. Jesse and Jim put on another winner. And Jim, I appreciate your patience waiting for my .308 impacts (and from a semi-auto no less).

You showed up and gave it a try, that beats everyone (like me) who didn't even dare to do that! The man who steps in the ring is far greater than those who dare not venture from the safety of the sidelines. (Or something like that ...)

Re: SHWW Group

Although i was doing ok, some one had to fill the role for pat since he couldnt make it. It was almost a completely different competition between me and mark to see who could hit the most hostages

Re: SHWW Group

Alan,

I am glad you took care of it because the hostage would have felt neglected with out pat there to punish it.

***Also tested out some stage ideas with pistol in the middle of stages for upcoming matches and needless to say there will for sure be some pistol shooting in the stages it was way to damn much fun not to include it!!! Targets will be minimum 12x18 so don't worry about needing some fancy pistol hell i won't care if you bring a revolver.

Re: SHWW Group

Those hostages were in the wrong place at the right time. Everyone else was shooting em, so why not. That stage was pure comedy for are group.

Thanks again Jesse and Jim for setting up another match. Its worth the drive.

Re: SHWW Group

I finally got approval from the Board at Upper Nisqually for a practical rifle match. This match is to give the board a chance to see a match prior to putting it on the regular match rotation schedule.

The match will be Saturday 16 June, starting at 8 am. The required one time certification for all shooters will start at 3pm on Friday the 15th. There is no charge for the certification.

First match is limited to only 10 shooters. I'll post on the other web sites in a day or so....(hint)

The board has some rules that are required, such as no movement between positions with a loaded rifle, and they will let me know what the required entry fees are. I will post the entry fees when I am told how much to charge, but I'm quite sure they will be less than $50 even for non members with no requirement for membership.

Anyone shooting will have to bring 3 pieces of steel for us to shoot on, and you take the steel home after the match. We will also need one timer in lieu of someone bringing steel.

Please PM questions to me, and I'll save up the questions for a couple of days, then post all the answers in one posting.

Re: SHWW Group

Jim and Jesse.....the match was a blast. I really enjoyed it. Having the laid back setting was a hoot.

Jesse...I will make sure and get signed in prior to 15 minutes before the start this time I promise.

What is not fun about getting out and pulling the trigger?

Alan and Marc, thanks for the comedy, at all the stages. Cant wait to get out for the next time.
