Details on the Oak Ridge Sportsmans Assn website.

This should have a great turnout. I hear that the NC guys are coming over in force.

Now my own personal scheduling problem is that my wife is due on May 15th. I can hear me now..."Sweetie, can your mother take you? I'll head for the hospital as soon as we have a pit change."

There will be at least 9 from Butner. Should be a good match.

XTR, when are you guys practicing next at ORSA? I'm in Oak Ridge too, just a few miles down from the range. I've been wanting to come out and watch/meet some of you guys if that's ok?

I'm a member too but I usually slip out there during the week when it's nice and quiet. That way there's no laughing ;o)

I'm just getting into long range shooting. I've been in the law enforcement field since 2001 so I'm use to engaging things in terms of feet not yards ;o)

However, I do have AE MKIII and a M98B (not sure if ORSA allows 338) and would love for one of you guys to show me what these things are really capable of! That 1000 yr range is justa callin my name ;o)

    Thanks

Should be a practice at 1000 yards Monday afternoon. I'm planning to be there and with the regional this weekend I would imagine there will be a few others.

The 338 is fine, but no brakes during matches.

I'm looking to get into FT/R shooting too if I can ever get my rifle done. How often do you guys shoot? Is there a schedule to look at? I'm not a member but shoot at the USPSA matches often there. Any tips for a noob? A list of things needed to help make shooting more comfortable and more fun?

Well, I'm ready for tomorrow, BUT, my wife is hinting that we may be going to the hospital tonight. If I'm not there in the AM I should be there tomorrow afternoon to hand out cigars.

Updates? On the match that is.

Wanted to participate but was attending son's graduation at UGA. Celebrating his graduation and me loosing one off the payroll. Well at least one of those two.

XTR you can update on status of mom and baby too. What a great Mother's day gift!

Re: Regional Long Range Tournament May 11-13 at ORSA

Conditions today were the most calm for the longest period of time that I've ever shot in at ORSA in the last year. Winds were almost not there. That said I tossed one of the worst scores shot by anyone today in my first match (185). Almost everyone shot in the 190s in the first match. Pretty much means I'm battling not to be on the bottom.

There were three 197s (don't know X counts) shot in F-TR today. I know two of the guys. Great shooting there.

There was a 199 in F-Open, not sure who.

It got a little windy at the end, and I mean a little, but I still shot better than I did in dead calm in the first match.

There are a ton of F-TR shooters here. I think the top 5 shooters are all separated by about 2 points.

Tomorrow the weather man is forecasting a potential washout.

    We got washed out today.

The top 7 places in F-TR were separated by 2 points. I think first place and third place may have been decided on X-count.

Looking over the scores the first two matches yesterday were pretty close to no wind conditions. Most scores were in the mid 90s. Three guys shot 197s with 6 or 7 Xs. By the 3rd match yesterday the wind picked up a little and I think the scores fell in to the 180s with some low 190s. I'll post up the scores here when they go on the ORSA website.

    The F-TR turnout was fantastic.
