So my first mistake was watching Cajun Pawn Starts. A guy walks in with to "disassembled" pistols claiming he can't put them back together again.

The camera shows a top shot inside the box and it looks like the dude field stripped a 1911 and a Glock 17. They make a big stink about the history of both firearms and the man behind the counter has to ship them to someone that can put them back together again.

What a load of bullshit! They brought out a "gun expert". Talk about sensationalizing something the owner could have done by looking at a Youtube video.

Re: Give me an effing break!

we call it "bag-O-gun" at the shop, they come in all the time, but the day i have to send them to a "gun expert" is the day i beat my head against the wall...

Re: Give me an effing break!

I would like to be that "Gun Expert" and charge a pretty penny. I could call it the "Ignorance is Bliss" charge or the "Less Intelligent than this Box-O-Guns" Charge.

Point is...I have not problem taking money from stupid people.

Just make sure to protect yourself with an LLC. Might I suggest a more subtle company name of "A Fool and His Money"?

I own a Ruger MKII slabside due to a similar situation. Put it together for the customer right in front of him and he still didn't want it back.
Best $100 I had spent in a long time.

Re: Give me an effing break!

So the owner has his 1911 reassembled and the man behind the counter decides to make him an offer on the pistol and he accepts!

What the fuck??!! Like that wasn't a reason to create some mild drama and insert a 100 year old 1911 into the show.

How I hate reality TV. If it ain't Bait Car, I don't like it!

Re: Give me an effing break!

I should laugh at that show, but around these parts it pretty often where folks take their guns apart to clean them for their first time and don't know how to put them back together again. I once totally disassembled a buddy's 10/22 for the first time ever and cleaned it and left it in pieces assuming he knew how to put it back together again. Apparently he didn't and guess who had to be the one to put it back together. Putting trigger assemblies back together on ANY gun is a pain in the ass!

I've known about TV since before color sets were the norm and black & white was a WTF is that?

    Here's a clue/hint....Television, it's way over rated.

There's a simple solution to your problem, and by default could likely spare us here any more of your disgruntle....it starts with your remote's "off" button.

Carburator cleaner and an air compressor? Maybe?

    I thought everybody knew that.......

Re: Give me an effing break!

On American Guns last night they had a guy from FL come in asking for a "Gator Gun". The owner sold them a .223 Mossberg MVP and S&W Govenor for get this $8000!!!

They both had trigger jobs and scroll work engraving though so it was totally a good deal... that stuff is worth at least the price of an AIAW ~$6500

I wish these gun shows weren't on tv... it is making all of us look bad.

Don't give up so easily brother, it takes all the fun out of it.....

I do agree though, for the most part, reality tv sucks.........

Re: Give me an effing break!

Naw, got to. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't.
