need a satelite phone gents

Gents I have an Alaskan brown bear hunt booked Spring 2014 and I need a reliable satellite phone. I want to own it but is it cheaper to rent it?
I will have extra use for it down in South Texas when I am out Visiting my Patient's in Rural Areas, believe me no cell phone companies work where I visit these poor folks.I have tried them all including two way radios. And if I get into some dangerous situation I want to be able to call for extra gauze, IV fluids, antibiotics, ammo, shit you just don't know when you are this close to the border. "What border LOL?"

You can rent one at Surveyor's Exchange, in Anchorage. They'll even deliver it to you at the airport if necessary.

I own one, but I live here and use it all year. For you, it will be much easier to rent.

I have used Globalstar and Iridium - both worked about the same for voice. The Globalstar was used inland in a former career. I set up a an Iridium for a friend that used it off-shore. He used it for both voice and data, and I was very impressed with the data capability.

Thank you for the reply sir(<span style="font-weight: bold">Enough Said</span>), but I also want to carry one since I take care of sick people in rural areas near the Mexican border and in Ranches where no cellular phone services are available. This is why I asked what was cheaper " to buy or rent/lease" a satellite phone.
