That lion doesn't look particularly scared?

Possibly due to the fact that lions EAT coyotes whenever they feel like it. Pretty easy to see that lion just had a big breakfast, too...

If someone who hunts yotes with an electronic call wants to bump the audio down to an mp3, would be interesting to hear feedback on the sound being played for some they're hunting.

Wonder if they'd come in, stop, or peel off?

I'm not sure what would happen. It seems like an "alarm" vocal.

When I've been busted on stand the alarm bark is normally preceeded by a couple short, gruntlike barks fist. This guy just lets it rip. Seems like he's looking around expecting another coyote to show. He may be calling for backup.

Thats interesting. I have never heard that sound before the "alarm bark". I have been busted but that usually consisted of them just hauling ass to get the hell out of dodge. I have never heard or had one "alarm bark" at me.

That was a warning and challenge call from the yote. But that lion could have easily killed the coyote. No contest there.

That lion pretty much just said "Eh, you're too skinny to eat..." and moved along!

Vocals were pretty sweet though love hearing all the diff noises them dogs make!

The yote would not bother me, seeing a cat that close would. Time to start back tracking, pistol out.....

One lone yote is no worry for the cat, a pack of his buddies might be a different story.
