Movie Theater Looking for the name of a movie..can you guess it?

I have not seen this movie in years and forgot the name.

It was made in the 60's?? It was about a British unit that was stranded at a old fort in the african desert in ww2 and they where surrounded by the germans. The brits had a small well and had water and the jerrys where dieing of thirst. It was a stand off. The Brits wanted them to give up there weapons for water.

Anybody remember this movie

there were a US Tank crew 5 englishmen and a Sudanese soldier in that one holding the Germans off...
