Gunsmithing Aftermarket recoil lug for re-barreled Savage?

I see PTG makes aftermarket lugs for the Savage.
Wondering if it's worthwhile, re-barreling mine (7-08), low recoil round to begin with, will I benefit from a heavier lug?
Long as I've got the barrel off...

I've also read that the thicker lugs may require re-setting the shoulder on the barrel? Obviously- something I want to avoid...

The OEM lug is stamped. It is entirely adequate, though the aftermarket lugs are precision ground and thicker. If you are keeping the barrel nut, it won't affect barrel fit. If you're going nutless, it will.

For $25, I'd say go for it.
