2012 Wenatchee Tri Gun

This is a heads up for those shooting in the tri-gun match.
The gully stage is like a high intensity ride and as such I want to give you all the C.O.F. in advance so you will not be blind sided by any of the requirements.

Gully stage
Round count: 200 pistol, 15 carbine, 4 bird shot.
Boots are a must for this stage. You will be traversing, climbing and descending steep, rough terrain. There are snakes in the gully.
Between firing points (FP) 8 and 9 you will have to climb an extension ladder vertical for 25’.
Start at table with the pistol holstered, empty chamber, loaded mag in pistol.
Rifle chambered on safe. Shotgun chambered on safe.
At start, engage self hand thrown clay targets in shoot zone.
Put safe shotgun into barrel.
Use carbine and engage 4- targets in gully, 2- shots each, left to right. Then engage 2-targets on road 2-shots each.
Put EMPTY carbine onto the table with the bolt locked back and magazine OUT.
With no more than 100 rounds in loaded magazines and up to 200 rounds total, 'jump' into the gully. There are 156 pistol rounds minimum needed. ( good luck)
Pistol MUST be in a secure holster at all times while moving.
DO NOT leave a FP before re holstering. If you do, you will be stage DQ’ed. While reloading, If your pistol's muzzle breaks the 140 you will be match DQ’ed.
There are 10 FP with multiple targets at each FP.
All steel will be shot twice, left to right.
At FP-3 you must shoot the steel, remove bayonet, and re-stab the dummy, then re shoot the steel.
Do not sweep yourself or you will be stage DQ’ed.
FP 10 is your last FP for the gully.
You must shoot steel from left then right side of door then open ‘window’ and shoot steel again.
Your run will end when you close the window. DO NOT sweep yourself when you open/ close the window. If you do you will be stage DQ’ed.
If you break the 140 degree as designated by the RO, you will be match DQ’ed.
Before leaving the final FP (10) you MUST Show the RO a cleared pistol, slide down, hammer down, holstered.

Thanks for the rundown, sounds fun!

Can we talk you into divulging more or less how scoring will work?... I have to decide which boots to wear

Re: 2012 Wenatchee Tri Gun

Scoring will be something like this:
not neutralized 5 sec ea, not engaged 15 sec ea, not hit 10 sec ea, no shoot 5 sec ea, procedural 5 sec ea.
The gully course will have a block of time as well, still working that out.

Re:SHWW

How about throwing stars, bows, blow guns, and wrist-rockets,... How about an "Any human powered weapon/projectile that can impale/embed itself in a target for score" stage?... 20 points possible (5 point for score / 15 points for style),... just a thought.

That is seriously nice! Did you pick one up for me while you were over there? And I'm guessing that is "Son of Tribe" in the background?

Holy cow, 13, 6'1" and 236, have you signed a letter of intent yet???

Re: SHWW Group

Jim,
I might be able to RO for one day if I can do it in a day trip. I have plenty of experience as an RO, and a have a timer I can bring. Maybe Broker and I could drive up together.

I have never been to where you are going to hold the match (unless it is near Ellensburg). Do you have any idea if a day trip to RO (From Tacoma) would be practical?

I have heard that you put on really good matches, maybe I could prove useful.

Re: SHWW Group

Broker, Unknown, The match is this Saturday, 8-25-12.
Start time is 7:30am, should be over and done by 3PM.
I may stagger the start for people that absolutely cannot make the 7:30 start and let them start at 8:30 and still end by 3PM.
This is a one day match. The RO's are primarily for safety. The match can run itself on 2 stages.
The gully and cop town stages will need adult supervision though.
If you guys can RO, that will be great. I will provide lunch and fluids for RO's at minimum.
I will also e-mail the courses of fire to you if you are going to RO so you can get a feeling as to what I am trying to accomplish.
Again, this is a fun match, no prize table unless a vendor wants to bring something.

Re: SHWW Group

If anyone is going to be shooting over in E-burg on Sun me know. I am heading over to Bethel Ridge tomorrow to scatter the ashes of one of my hunting buddies who died last yr. I'll be heading home on Sun, & could stop in for some shooting if anyone is going to be shooting over there.

Re: SHWW Group

Heads up to any eastside guys. I got a XDM45 4.5" some where around 200 rnds through it practically brand new in the box with all the mags and gear for sale. Like to do a FTF locally and I will be at the 3gun match this weekend PM if interested. I don't need two of the same 45s. $550

Re: SHWW Group

Local guys shooting in tomorrows match. I'm cutting it close on time for the gully course and I'm asking for 3-4 volunteers to run the course from 6-7am tomorrow. You will still get all the briefings, shoot all the COF's just in a different order.
Call me and let me know so I can plan accordingly.
Thanks
Jim

Re: SHWW Group

Jim and everybody -- thanks for putting on a fun match. I had a great time (despite finding creative ways to trainwreck stages).

I did manage to lose a couple of 17-round M&P 9mm mags (numbered 3 & 4 with white paint pen on the base plates). If anybody happened to pick them up, please PM me a ransom note

Re: SHWW Group

Alan won the match and it was a blast.
14 shooters, 6.5 hours of shooting, ~7000 rounds down range and we even got to use our trauma kit when Alan tried ( successfully)to crush his finger with his 870.
A picture of my favorite firing point on the gully stage,
The 2X backstabber.
You had to shoot 2 steel 2X, using the supplied M-16 bayonet, back stab the dummy, then 2 steel 2X.

Re: SHWW Group

Great match. Thanks to all the ROs! Any word on the rest of the scores?

Re: SHWW Group

I'll try to remember to email out the results to everyone tonight when I get home. Scores were all done and we ran through the full rankings to everyone that stayed after the match.

Re: SHWW Group

i got some go pro footage, but im retarded and cant figure out how to embed video from photobucket......if its even possible??

Re: SHWW Group

Might be easier to upload to Youtube and edit there.

Re: SHWW Group

Well, the good news is that I finally finished my degree
laugh.gif

However, I haven't found a new job yet so I'm in a bit of a financial free fall...

So, I'm looking to sell the TRG that I just picked up recently. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. I wanted to give y'all first shot at it before I post it in the For Sale section. And of course I will give a better deal to a local!

Re: SHWW Group

Great pics and videos Mike ! That's some serious lead flying !

Congrats on finally getting your degree !
Hope you find a job soon, selling rifles sucks to pay bills without a doubt but thankfully you have some to sell.
Wishing you lots of luck !
