Where you going to find 303 British in "shtf" situation?

</div></div>

Robin Master's compound, of course!

Re: sell or not sell?

My local shops dont stock it. I would get a more common caliber IMO if this was truly for "shtf".

Re: sell or not sell?

hell i know your being sarcastic. thats why im mainly taking your advice with a grain of salt

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Reaper 1</div><div class="ubbcode-body">then how would you do it. </div></div>

I'd ditch both current ideas in favor of a 12 gauge pump, and/or a 22lr rifle.

Re: sell or not sell?

My advice...

Get higher rings.

Move to a single shot rifle.

Try something in .458 Win Mag or a cartridge as available as such.

Or do the exact opposite.

Re: sell or not sell?

Reaper one;
I would sell the rifle, sell the scope.
If you want to stick with .303, get your self an enfield or two.
They are low priced, work well and should fill the need for your SHTF scenario.
I would by a bunch of 303 and call it good.
You may want to add a shotgun and a sidearm to the mix as well, one tool does not do it all.

Mosin Nagant 7.62x54r... and leave it bone stock

Re: sell or not sell?

Even if you wanted an oddball caliber, there's a ton more of others that I might suggest. 7.62x54r, 8MM Mauser ... but just remember that .308, .30-06, .270, and .243 are gonna be a lot more findable on the shelves when whatever happens that you think is gonna happen. And if you buy it cheap and stack it deep, be prepared to pick it up and move it. Not having it with you does no damned good.

and you're doing it wrong too

Re: sell or not sell?

well ive been trying to sell it. because i was going to get a cetme .308 but cant find one for a reasonable price

Re: sell or not sell?

advice:

Stop, look, listen. Oh, and learn.

Learn before you 'do'.

Otherwise, if you're 'gonna do things your way' then there's no question, is there? Because this is how you want to do things. Now if you want to do things "right" (definition of 'right' in this case would be "similar to the vast majority of others attempting the same goal") then you would want to learn what they are all doing, and follow suit. To the best of your ability, of course.

Anything else is simply baiting and trolling.

SLINGSHOT-PS003.jpg

Here you go, the ultimate SHTF weapon... No need for gunshops to get ammo.

It would seem your just going about it the wrong way.

Re: sell or not sell?

Sell that steamy turd, buy a 303 enfield, damn fine rifles, just leave 303 British enfield and shtf out of the same sentence

Re: sell or not sell?

here's the thing...

a budget rifle can be a LOT of things, mainly depending on the budget and use...

a SHTF gun needs to either be in a caliber that you're relatively sure you'll be able to get when said shit hits the fan... OR in a very useful and easily/cheaply and stored caliber... the only 2 calibers that fit that last part are 22LR and 12ga shotgun... the first MUST be a CURRENTLY used military caliber of some nation... not a military caliber that was last issued in the 1950s or so

YES... me and anyone w/ a brain.. you can NEVER store, or transport enough ammo for a SHTF scenario

Re: sell or not sell?

Reaper1, you may be the smartest person on this forum...You went online and found a picture of a rifle knowing that if you posted pics of it would cause a (shit storm deluxe)..Then you could come up with little short replies every time someone insults you or that turd rifle..You will gain what 40-75 posts off this fiasco? I hope you don't think I am insulting you because you are obviously smarter than me..

Re: sell or not sell?

what happened to every one has to be all nicey nice to newbies?

was that just last months fad rule?

Re: sell or not sell?

Look i own that rifle. and i dont know what your problem is but you need to grow up

Re: sell or not sell?

anybody have the link to the "everything I need to know about…"
thread where the 2 teddy bears are talking to each other bout SHTF and LR rifles?

that's gold and a perfect time to post but I can't find it.

so much quality info in that little quip. . .

Re: sell or not sell?

Here's your official warning, just in case everyone's right.....

If you decide to sell anything within say 2 weeks of hitting 100 posts then it will very likely result in a ban. Your style of posting 4 times in order to form one complete thought is not an acceptable way to get to 100 posts.

Re: sell or not sell?

For shit hit the fan...I would sell both and hopefully buy an AR-15 if not buy a AK variant. My .02 cents and, I have not read all the comments, but if you are serious...that's what I would do.

Sometimes I quote myself.....

Re: sell or not sell?

And buy a $200 12 gauge and Glock 19. With those two in a SHTF scenario the chicks will dig you and the zombies will fear you.

Once you have some more coin, get a blaster AR too, everybody needs one.

The number one thing to remember when the SHTF..... AMMO!!! More ammo is better than more guns. I'd rather have a Glock 19 and the $200 shotty and $2000 worth of ammo then have a G19, Shotty, Sweet AR and no ammo.

Re: sell or not sell?

Yeah for me neither rifle is a good SHTF tool, yeah they would work, as would a 2X4 if you get close enough, but not a great choice. I would pay more attention to practising with what ever you end up with and making sure you have enough ammo to keep shooting than anything else at this point. Save some money and get a good tool (the cheap shotgun sounds good, check you local pawn shops!).
