taint cheap

4835 euro (includes VAT). However, with today's exchange rate at approx 1.30, it will cost a nice penny or two. I guess it will not come in at $4,000 USD ? That would be too inexpensive.

Whoa. ...This will have to be sneaked past the wifey.

Here is a video we do of it. The scope is very nice looking.

With my paychecks not growing and the uncertainty of our economy this will definitely be a pass. My trusty Bushnell HDMR gets me on target every time.

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

Is there an importation tax on scopes? 4835 EU (w/ VAT)= $6272.44 US dollars. And I thought my Sako TRG and Hensoldt 4-16 were expensive!. $4000 for the 3.5-26x56 FF would be a screaming bargain considering it's "only" $500ish more than the current Hensoldt offerings. That's almost double the going price compared to the rest of their line.

No kidding, I guess I'll sell my entire rig scope and all to afford this baby lol

You will not pay VAT, if it is exported outside of Europe. Unfortunately, the VAT, is less money than the exchange rate difference.

To find the approximate cost, deduct the VAT and figure the price. Convert the price less VAT, from Euros to Dollars. The exchange rates will be different, when the scope is eventually released for sale to John Doe. This is in or around $5,000, by the time it is located for sale, at your local home-town gun-show - including euro dealer discount.

When I brought my Zeiss Spotter60 from IEA in Germany , a few mths back , I asked about when & price for the new Zeiss/Heny 3.5-26x56mm monster , and was told Nov 2012 & the price as 3684.87 this is the TAX free price available only for people outside the EU .

Later Chris

That would be quite the price for a scope that is quite compact and sports an impressive power ratio. I also like the large battery. Those little watch batteries don't give much run time in most optics.

If that price stands, I may be getting a new scope when they become readily available....

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

If that's true then the Euro is worse than we thought. By the way when did $3600 for a scope start sounding like a steal?

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

Well, I'll partially quote a 'Hide sponsor that responded quickly to my email a few days ago....." expect the new 3.5-26 scope in December. Price is expected to be $5900 "
It was also mentioned that the pricing indicated does not include mounts at this time.

While it seems carnal to be the first kid on the block to have $6500 into a day optic....that is my alter ego who is really fiscally irresponsible doing most of that thinking.

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

And you can quote me on this, "That optic better suck my dick for 5900 dollars"

OUCH.....do you get a kiss with that price?

Better freakin swallow too!

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

These European scope whores are getting way out of hand. Good ol' USA and Asia will clean their clocks. I guess some of their unemployed have nothing better to do than figure how to market their products at ridiculous prices. For that price they should run out and retrieve the targets and bring them back to you !!!

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

Clean their clocks? Eh, nope. There's a reason why Zeiss, S&B, et al are still very popular.

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

I can't argue that they don't make quality lenses. Have used them in many cameras, but no scopes since I just recently got into LR shooting, but at those prices I don't think they'll be flying off the shelves. At least you won't have to wait 6-9 months for one if you decide " to take the plunge".

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

I'm not surprised it costs that much.

I like my NH-1 but might consider selling it if Hensoldt has different reticle options. I like the big turrets on the new 4-16's too.

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

I wouldn't waste 3k on it since they don't have a warranty right now

No shit, I'm real excited about that myself... No problems to report on mine, figers crossed I guess...

Re: Hensoldt 3.5-26 x 56 FF

Ya.....I'm going into 4 weeks now of them giving me the "we're waiting on word from germany" to get someone to fix my broken scope.
