Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Great looking rifles gentlemen.

Joe glad to see you got her done finally.

Sawman I like what you did with the setscrews and the QD mount.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Dang, what is it with the KRG and mile long barrels?

30 inches of freedom lol. . 243 with DTACs, every inch helps.

Yes! My only complaint is the small check rest.

Without doubt.

While the check piece is very good for maintaining proper check weld due to its smaller slender proportion, a bit of cush and more grip when sweating would be ideal.

If I send my check now, am I first in line?

Thanks for making such a fantastic chassis!!

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

It is coming! (the cheek piece kit) The info I don't have is when it will be done and the final cost.

Glad to hear you guys are liking the stocks. A lot of effort from humans and machines goes into those puppies.

That's great news, nice to know I bought in to an evolving product with excellent manufacturer support!

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Justin: Any comments/consideration for a W3 adapter block for a Quad trainer or something along those lines?

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Hey guys, does anyone have a pic with the spigot mount with an attached NV rail? KRG website only shows the mount, but not installed on a chassis.

Thanks, Wally

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

holdoff- yes we will keep evolving the chassis and we have some pretty cool stuff coming next year and beyond. We don't plan on doing a gen 4 stock per se, (we may tweak the gen 3), we'll be mainly looking at other useful goodies and options.

Also, the monopod size is either the small or the medium one but not the largest one. I can't remember their names.

Shooter5- the Quad is on hold pending the completion of some big happenings around here.

gszeto-sharp looking rifles. I'm guessing you use that lower one with the huge barrel like how baseball players add that weight to their bat. When you switch back to the regular one it feels like a feather, haha!

Wally- We only have a couple guys who have the top NV rail. We have them on order from Badger, they are making just the top rail just for us. We're still mid-production on the little spacers needed. The Sako ITRS will bolt right up though, we should have a pic on the website.

How much does the fixed chassis weigh?

Needs more dirt... Those bipod feet are way too clean
Otherwise, very attractive.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

I have one for my REM 700 sa. I like it pretty well but I'm thinkin about parting with it to go to a manners or mcmillan. I have an A5 on one of my other rifles.and really like it but I've been wanting to try a manners T5 for a lon.g time. You can't really go wrong with any of this equipment juat a matter of what you like

Any chance of getting a model with maybe 4 more inches of forearm?

It's a 40-XB in 22LR that I use in competition.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Massoud,

Thanks for the info on the monopods.

Couple of questions. Is the forend skid plate compatible with all generations of the stock? And, will it clear a harris bipod with a KMW podloc that is using a standard sling swivel? Or, is it designed with the NV/bipod mount in mind? (I guess that was three.)

gszeto99,

Sweet .22! Eventually, I will get a barreled 40x... one more reason to love the W3C.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

holdoff, yes the skidplate is compatible across generations. It doesn't come all the way forward so does not interfere with the Harris. It should clear the pod loc as well, it's only 1/8" thick.

Marksman, the spigot mount is pretty much the only way to get 4 more inches of forend. It's not meant to be held with your hand of course but it puts your bipod out further as well as the NV mounts.

Thanks,
Justin

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Ive never had the opportunity to operate a rifle sitting in one of these things i sure think id like it.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

This looks like the most current KRGW3 thread, so I'll put these here. You're seeing the results of my first outing with Kydex to make a face-friendly cheekpiece. Molded over the SOPMOD stock, it does negate the ease of adjustability, but I had taken to using a set screw once adjusted anyways. The attachment screws are semi counter sunk and I don't even notice them. The .125" Kydex is molded around underneath to touch the side of the stock and has no flex. It turned out better than I expected given my lack of experience with the material.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

thats pretty cool, the cheekpiece is my one complaint with the chassis so far. i think justin is coming out with a couple other options though

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Just picked up a W3 chassis and am assembling the other parts. My initial impressions of the stock is that it is very well thought out and comfortable.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Looking at this thread I see a distinct lack of Krylon. I see I am going to have to be the one to change that when I finish building mine.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

This isn't mine but I came across the pictures in one of the other forums here and thought I'd share them. The Multicam dip job is sexy but I'm gonna go Krylon on mine for starters before I move up to gucchiflage dips.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

I asked KRG about the possibility of offering the Whiskey 3 for the SPR / PBR XP actions; just got an email back saying that they'll be trying it out over the winter to see if they can make it fit in the W3C.

If they build it, I'll buy it.

According to the KRG website with the spigot mount it does. KRG Spigot mount for TRG bipod

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Tagging, as this is the only chassis that I'm even remotely interested in. The problem is that the rifle I want to put it on is a Tikka in 6.5x55. Please give me some hope that this could happen someday!

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Anybody on the back ordered rem700 sa folder list get a chassis yet?

I really like the Contour and profile of the forearm to mag-well over the standard W-3. Is there any possibility to get this front assembly for a Rem-700 action

Exactly, that's part of the TRG-22 that his rifle started life as.

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Is it a skin of some sort or did he cut his TRG chassy and marry it to a KRG W-3

Re: KRG Whiskey 3 Chassis-Let's See Them

Hi guys, I'll add some more info to this thread:
-The Victor Co grippy cheek piece kit is near completed but it will take some time to get up on the site, pics, etc.

-The gen 3 folders have been shipping for a little while but there's a substantial list to get through.

-We did ship Badger a few folders so contact them quickly.

-The TRG bipod will NOT work with the Spigot Mount. The spigot mount goes in the hole that the TRG bipod uses. The spigot mount is for a rail or sling stud mounted bipod and it really adds some nice stability. The TRG bipod WILL fit into a W3C but the steel catch on the TRG bipod will likely gouge the aluminum W3C over time. The TRG stock has a steel plate there, and in theory you can take the steel plate off the TRG and put it on the W3C.

-The TRG forend is a very nice shape. Unfortunately the only way to really manufacture a shape like that is cast polyurethane or aluminum (Sako uses polyurethane). Also unfortunately is that the TRG magazine well is just slightly out of position to use on the Rem. The TRG forend will fit onto a W3C but will need two holes drilled for those long screws that hold it on.

-The TRG folder that we make, which is what you see on the brown TRG, is nearly identical to the back half of the Whiskey-3. The only change is the grip panel on the right side. The Rem 700 has a bigger cutout for the larger bolt handle and the 90 degree throw.

-The W3C is just the logical follow-up to two of our first ideas, one was the AICS mag conversion for the TRG-22, and the other was the TRG folding back end. So the W3C is basically a direct descendant of TRG hop-up parts.

Thanks guys!
Justin

-Also, the Badger IMUNS NV mount is nearly complete as well, same thing as the cheek piece, it will take time to get on the site, pics, etc. The Sako ITRS mount will bolt to the Spigot Mount as another option. With the big move, SHOT, and the holidays, it's a busy place here.

I don't have any good pics to share...Yet...
