MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

I'm in and found out today I'll have my new barrel setup and ready to rock. I can't wait!

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Brian,

I am responsible for entering 3 people tomorrow can I send all the info in 1 email or do you need 3 different ones?

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Brian,I shot this match last year and had a ball. I've been trying to get a afriend to do this sport, he said he'd try the intorductory match. Can one person send one email for 2 people?

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Hey guys, I really would prefer separate emails for each person, its easier to keep track of everyone that way. If you absolutely can't, one email for multiple shooters is OK, just make sure I have the email for every competitor.

Thanks again

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Sent my email at 12:06 for the match on March 16th. This will be my first match.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

I hope I get a spot to shoot in this match. It sounds like some fun and a good chance to meet some other shooters to make friends with from around here. Hope to meet you all there.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Daughter got in the second weekend. Will be there both weekends, should be a great time.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

I placed an email @2:30am Saturday, but haven't heard anything one way or the other. Still waiting..... Hopefully I'll get in.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

My brother and I are in for the intro match as well. Can anyone tell me about stages from previous years or gear that is a must? It would really be a huge help because this is our first match. Thank you.

I'm in the same boat. I'd love to get some advice on what a beginner with little equipment should buy and gather up to bring to the match.

I'm super stoked about making it in this year! Can't wait!

I had the pleasure of shooting it last year as a RO and it was my first PR competition course. I literally brought out every article of shooting paraphernalia I thought I might need for shooting and spotting and used very little of it. When I really gave my gear a hard look after the shooting was done, the gear in the NEED column was pretty sparse.

There is plenty of kit that you can bring to make life easier, but the absolutely required gear is probably something like this:

1. A rifle and ammo that you really trust and can use comfortably in any position.
2. A reliable scope that you can make adjustments with.
3. A bipod or ruck to shoot off of.
4. A way to carry your DOPE either attached to your rifle or your person.
5. A way to carry at least 20 rounds at a time where its very easy to get to for reloads during stages.
6. A range finder that can reliably range out to at least 600 yards (1k would be best)
7. Some way to carry 100-200 rounds of rifle and a couple mags of pistol between stages.
8. A rear bag.

These are just the things that I personally needed in the course of fire. You can throw a lot of money at this kind of thing (I know I have), but the reality is you can shoot every stage of this competition with nothing but a rifle, ruck, ammo, and range finder. And if you're a jedi master that can mil range targets fast enough, you don't even need the LRF.

Disclaimer: These are just my personal observations pertaining to last years competition. YMMV. Also this in no way reflects the official recommended gear list that may be posted for this years competition.

The sunburn was just a natural part of my range safety getup. I was high-vis all weekend and didn't get shot at once!

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Thank you DPRoberts, that helps alot. I have that stuff already, just need some more trigger time and more dope for my rifle. I'm planning on a strong finish in last place but I will have fun doing it and hope to make some friends. And what is the longest range, I'm still trying to decide between my ar15 or 308 bolt gun? Thanks again

I don't want to ruin any surprises and I'm sure Brian with be mixing it up, but I'll say the median range last year was within the capabilities of .223 (I'm assuming your AR is .223). That being said there were definitely stages I was glad to have a 308, especially when it came to seeing splash of misses.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Yeah I just wasn't sure which gun would be better for the match. I've seen some matches where you have to unload your gun everytime you move and my Remington 700 doesn't have a mag system. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Sent my registration fee today. The wait has begun.

You REALLY REALLY need a detachable magazine system and several detachable magazines to be effective in tactical matches these days.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Yeah, that's why I was thinking of using my ar15. It shoots sub moa but I wasn't sure of how far some of the shots would be.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

Redeye, do you load/shoot heavies? If so, you will be fine through the entire course of fire. If you are shooting a factory load, you will be OK for 99% of it.

I would choose the one you are most familiar with and have the best dope for. That will pay off throughout the entire match.

Re: MRMBC, Missouri...Its on

There are four full hookup sites.

They can be reserved on a first contact basis. At this point, none are spoken for.

If interested, send an email indicating such.

There is also plenty of space for primitive camping.
