cabelas had yellow jacket in stock 8.99 per 100 today.also stopped by local ctd,,,, man are they hosing people on ammo.

Guess I don't feel so bad about paying $23.99 today for a Fed. 525 bulk pack.

Man, Id go down on a hobo for the chance to pay 24$ for fed bulk 525 pack.

I paid 16.99 for federal 325 bulk off of cabelas 2 months ago and I havent seen any in stock since. I bought 10 boxes and split it with a friend. If I knew that 2 months later 22lr would be harder to find I would have kept it all for myself. Im down to 3 boxes now and Im very hesitant to shoot those. Warm weather is fast approaching and I cant find any damn 22lr, wtf.

Stopped by the local shop today and they have just over 300,000 in stock. 99% of it was CCI plinken ammo but they did have some velocitor's and stinger's and some CCI sub sonic. The prices were definitely not optimal (case 3,750 for just under $400) but if you really needed some they have plenty for the time being. I say plenty but they will probably be gone in a couple weeks.

South Georgia has not seen a 22lr round of any flavor for quite some time and as a result I have to take my son and his friend skeet shooting every weekend. The price you quote on the 22 ammo is a bargain compared to the price of running a few rounds of skeet.

I stopped in a local shop here in Houston and they had Winchester (I don't know what flavor) 333 round boxes marked at...

$89.99

100 rounds of 5.56 for $117.99

I let them keep all of it...

I won't be spending a dime at a place that charges such bullshit prices....and neither should anyone else.

If you don't pay it....they can't charge it!

Wake up!

I agree I refuse to pay outrageous prices stock up when prices are low and then u dont have to pay high prices.

I got this in an email a few weeks ago, not sure if it's true or what, but I went to Midway's site today to look at .260 ammo, and of the 22 different makes they offer, I think only 9 were in stock, 13 not availible and "no Backorders"... So I looked at what they had for 30-06 ammo.. EVERYBODY HAS THIS. They offer 130 different makes of it. They only have 30 to choose from. 96 are not available anymore and no back orders taken…

This is what I had in my Email a few weeks ago. Didn't really believe it, but I'm beginning to wonder now...

I think the previous message is quoting an internet spoof, similar to the one going around last year about Soros owning Cerberus who in turned owned Freedom Group that was aquiring all of the gun makers. It was total BS.

George Soros doesn't own any ammunition manufacturers.

The ammo shortage has been caused by panic buying and hoarders that caught the industry by surprise. If there was really a shortage of ammo where are the scumbag gougers at the gun shows that charge $1200 for a case of Wolf .223 getting it from? Things will calm down and ammo will start showing up on the shelves again, probably not at the prices it was before because now the retailers know what people are willing to pay for it, but the days of $1.20 a round for steel case Russian crap are numbered.

Wake up!

They had a bcm gunfighter 7.62 charging handle (that I have been looking for) for less than I could find it on line so I bought that. Buy what you need at prices that are reasonable. There's no reason to miss a deal on one thing because you don't like the price on another...

went to local academy today, they had some cci & blaser in stock.still limiting to one box per person.maybe things are starting to change. it was at 7.99 per hundred

ive been finding ammo locally on the day it arrives at walmarts big 5 and dicks. all at decent prices. .22 bulk paks 23.99. .45 500 rounds for $200. .223 20 for 8.99, 100 $44, 200 for $80

I wish I could be available when the ammo arrives at these stores. I work 10+ hour days and by the time I can get to these stores after work, there is never anything left...still to this day. I'm getting tired of wasting my time even looking. Not whining, just noting the issue here.

I was able to find some limited 9mm at Gander for pre-panic pricing, with one box of 250 limit. It was UMC, not my first choice but I still picked it up. They also had 1 box of 308 Z-Max on the shelf.

ya for sure im on my own schedule right now so can do it. i have seen some outrageous prices around here at the same time. $100 brick of blazer 22 lol and also $30 remington 223. and best of all stag stripped lower for only $800 plus tax and dros lol

I second the big FU to the guys who are hoarding ammo. This is typical for our nation now, the mentality of " I got mine so fuck the rest " is not going to stop. Just imagine if there was a food shortage !!! It makes you think that the Armageddon preppers my not be far off the mark. If this kind of thing can happen with something as common as rifle ammo, what's going to happen if the real important stuff becomes scarce ? We are no longer a nation of Americans were just a bunch of people living next to each other !

Not sure there is such a thing as ammo hoarding...or food hoarding for that matter. Being prepared is paramount to survival. I believe a lot of us got caught with our pants down and now are trying to get caught up. I will not let it happen again. We all should have known better after what happened in 2008. Just my $0.02 !!

Friday mornings at Richards spot. They open at 9AM here in AZ so you need to be in line by 8-ish to be in the front. Last week 525 bulk boxes were $19. 9MM 250 count were available for the equivlent of $12/ 50 round boxes.

You are limited to 3 boxes, one Bulk like a 525 box and 2 standard 20/50/100 round boxes of what ever caliber they have.

By 9AM when they opened the doors, there were 45 people in line.

Diesel was $5.50 gal. when I bought these & yes that's $8.99 per. 500

When this is all over, I for one will be posting the names of all the ammo dealers who tried to screw us over! "You fucked with the wrong Marine". LOL

Dang, wish I could have posted it sooner! It was up all day yesterday, but I didn't see it until 10 pm. I know lots of people get around the limits by having thier wife order too or whatever, but it did seem to last longer than a lot of these. By June I really hope this becomes available locally again. Sucks paying shipping when irs already double the wally world price at Christmas. I am set on all other calibers, ironically just not on .22, the cheapest of all!

Check out some of the other smaller outfits, you may get lucky. I found Bruno shooters supply the other day and picked up 3000 rounds of Wolf match. Price on the site was 5.69 per box if I remember correctly. I didn't even get pissed when the guy called me the day after I posted the order and said his price went up and that he was going to have to charge me 6.15 per box. I felt like it was still a good deal right now given the current situation

just saw it & i cant stop laughing...... federal auto match 325 pack,,,,,,,, 35.00 ea

The local GM had the same Federal .22lr match for $15 for 50 and .308 FFMM for $50 for 20 rounds. I said no thanks to both. Next time I was in it was all gone. My last two .22lr ammo purchases were right place right time, Remington golden bullet 525 round pack for $20 and 1000 round Winchester for $35.

Ok I am out of luck with everyone else I just wanted to say that
"Man, Id go down on a hobo for the chance to pay 24$ for fed bulk 525 pack. "
made me spit monster all over my keyboard

I was wondering if that was too far, but it accurately represents my desperation.

I haven't seen any 22lr ammo in ga for a loooong time. I am down to my last box of 500 rounds. I have a friend looking for me as well whenever he goes to the gun shop. Hopefully this will all pass soon.

I haven't purchased ammo since last summer. Let's just say I'm set for a long time. I never sold any of my ammo either and for the record the bubble will bust just like everything else that risen so rapidly.

The folks who are new to firearms don't know any better. Ooooooo!!!! A-M-M-O..... "Yes, we take all major credit cards."

Local dealer would only sell with purchase of gun. 2 sleeve limit on mini mags. Long story short...I have yet another 22 pistol.

Brunos has a large variety of Match ammo in stock last I checked. Little more expensive than plinking ammo but available. Wolf, Lapua, Eley.

Our local ACE received a ammo order in today I picked up 2 bricks of 525 at 29.95 per brick. he is limiting folks to 1 brick per week I sent my son he got one under his name and one under mine. i will get more next week if it still exists.

See if you can get Brunos to answer the phone BEFORE you order. Otherwise you might be like me and place an order and never hear from them again. I have called dozens of times, its like they have taken the phone off the hook. I totally understand how busy people are now but thats no excuse to have poor customer service. I placed my order over a month ago, got an email confirmation and thats it. What I ordered was in stock. I also filled out their comment section too asking them to contact me with an ETA. Not a hurry up message just an ETA. I have yet to hear anything from them. Just be careful.............

22 is slowly starting to show up at the brick and morters. Cabelas, Bass Pro, Dicks, Academy and even Walmart are getting ammo in a couple times a week. The problem is everyone wants a 2 year supply before they stop buying. (myself included lol) I dont have time to go stand in front of the store waiting for it to open and go raid the ammo every morning at 9:00 am. I also work so I cant be there. But the worst is the people buying it and the selling it for up to 10 times what they paid for it. Some people have made a full time job out of this. Then there are the online guys selling for 10x normal cost (Able ammo). At least the Match grade stuff is still out there at normal prices. I shot last weekend and plan to go shooting this weekend. I at least shoot mine.

My girlfriend manages a Walmart. They got a case of the 50ct boxes of 22 yesterday. Even limiting buyers to 3 boxes it was sold out in less than 24 hours.

.22lr ammo

Having an 8:00 to 5:00 job makes it hard line up to buy ammo.[/QUOT

When they get any ammo shipment, Wally's World in my area (east coast) puts it on the shelves between 5am and 7am. I realize the oh-dark-early hour is in suck city, especially when one doesn't know which days the shipment might have ammo, but it may be a way for you to get some (even competing w/the other buyers at that hour). Check w/the sales folks/managers at your local W-M store for when they put their shipments out.

i put a few boxes of ammo on gb that i was not going to shoot {rem golden }. i'm not a fan of gouging so i started it at .01 with no reserve, willing to take what it brought.lets just say it was worth it to let the bidders sort it out.

I've got 10,000 rounds, and though I hate the idea of people spending 2-4x what I paid, I am tempted to score on other people's stupidity.
