Anyone ever received a similar email? I hope a Captain would have better writing skills...even a doggie.

Dear Friend,

Maybe a Lieutenant Dan will write asking for funds to help get his magic legs.

Its weird. I got an email the other day by "Fedex" that said they tried to deliver a package to me and gave me a reference number....It just so happened that I was expecting a gun to come in. So like an anxious firearms owner, I quickly called them with the reference number. I told them and then the lady says exactily what the email said and told me it was a fraud. Not too sure what the heck it got the people who sent it to me, other than getting a ton of people to call Fedex.

I get them from time to time. The scammers know that its just a matter of time before some moron falls for it.

trouble is, they keep doing it because enough people do fall for it.

I have a thread posted in the WTB section fir some 115 dtacs and I just got a email also and it seemed odd to me. It came from "gum-man - Sniper's Hide Forums"

I looked for gum-man and couldn't find anyone under that name but might be doing it wrong with the new forum. I just thought it was odd it came as a email and not a PM

I got this same email. I guess we need to start reporting profile(s).

Guys, I got this same email too after I posted in the WTB section. I knew to ignore it but I've never had to deal with scammers on the Hide before.

LOL dont knock his writing skills..... I have some e-mail's from an American General in Afg that is some of the shittiest Grammer I have ever seen.. You could read pissed off from begining to end because my company reps didnt know the tail number of the aircraft my transfer switch was on..... Turns out it was on a bus BTW :D
I have gotten a couple funny emails off some ads posted on the hide. I think the real reason is your email is easily viewed.

Same here .

Dear friend, please allow me to introduce myself.i am captain greg, in 4th battalion, 64th armored regiment unit here that patrols the helmand province, afghanistan.i am seeking your assistance to evacuate the sum of twenty five million united states dollars to you, as far as i can be assured that it will be safe in your care until i complete my service here. This is no stolen money and there are no dangers involved.

I've gotten alot of emails from Paypal , Gunbroker , e-bay etc....and a few from different credit card companies that i dont have cards with ! asking to update my info to verify my accts Called all folks directly that I do business with or have accts with , All Scams!

I have begged the Nigerian who has 68 million in a bank to contact me, :). I think my problem is I always end my replies with EAT SHIT AND DIE. I wonder why they never contact me. As stated above, in this day and age, its a scam until proven otherwise. Some phishing scams are quite good, but it's still BS. The scam of aluminum wallets to prevent card reading was ingenious, and legal. Go figure. I work my ass off building rifles for some of you, I'll be damned if I will give it away. Sucks they used the good name of our soldiers in their methods. The scammers are fleeting and authorities are chasing ghosts mostly. I know when its time, they better have asbestos undies on where they are going to end up.

Reply back with a pic of your asshole, just what I do
Ha!!! Man, your replies like this consistently crack me up!

I haven't gotten those exact emails, but have gotten some strange pm's and emails from ads in the for sale section, usually telling me they will buy, but I must ship international. Some have been legit foriegn board members, and many have been members for 3 months with a single digit post count and strange handle.

Ugh, the fake FedEx, UPS and DHL scams. I have a coworker that falls for every single one of them.

New scam II

I use (once only) this thread to warn the VINTAGE MILITARIA COLLECTORS, if any here or among your friends, about an heavily suspect scammer operating since 2 months in Italy from a central Europe's country, hitting by advertising on one of our main gun websites, where the most part of the gun-enthusiasts are accustomed to a "compelled" fair-play among themselves, being that all the legal guns & gun owners are registered and traceable by our law_ The wannabe-smart-guy(s?) can answer in English, German, and Italian and I wouldn't be surprised that, once exahusted his businesses with Italy, the same individual(s?) would continue the same tricks corresponding with other EU or U.S. countries _ Being that his business field isn't about registered items, but medals, hats, badges, etc.until 1945, it's quite free to crawl away undisturbed.
...until now_
My PM box & e-mail address are cocked&loaded for more info and woking tasks about that, if/when of some interest to yours _
If writing that I have misused of this thread, I apologizewith all of yours and I won't be shy to be corrected from the Mods or others ,of course_ Thank you very much about your ATTENTION _

...found now!!! : it's the same BASTARD of my rant above:

Yours Truly

p.s.:On the first of these addresses above you can appreciate the pear-shaped face of the scammer in some interesting pictures_ I've found the html addresses only few minutes after my post_ I'm sorry to not having I been faster, but the faith in A.C.M.E. has me helped, on the end...

A buddy's wife was playing XBox when some dude started really hitting on her. He started asking her to send photos via some camera for XBox. So my buddy does a shot of his harry A-Hole and nuggets and sends it to him. Guy responds, "uh, not what I was expecting..." I don't think I would want my junk out there electronically, but it was pretty funny hearing about it.

By the way, the best scam-the-scammers story I've read about involved a guy trying to sell a laptop. He figured out it was a Nigerian wanting the computer shipped to someone in London (paying with a BS payment). The guy shipped a box or binder or something like that with the word "Laptop" written on it. But he shipped it international COD. The scammer's accomplice in London paid the $280 shipping fee to get it! Nice.

This is the one I get a lot. Looks exactly like FedEx but it is fake.
