This past Saturday morning around 8.35am I got my "RAMPAGE" on!!! Did I go over board with the shirtless bloody picture? Hahaha well ummmmm maybe, maybe a little bit. But it was a memory I will have for the rest of my life. 12 PIGS!!!

My cousin informed me the evening prior that a group of 12 hogs are going to the feeder around 8.30am. So, morning rolls around, I grabbed my rifle and a mag and headed out for what I thought would be just a quick 1 mile jog to the feeder, notice the shorts and tennis shoes, and was to the feeder by about 8.30am. I was maybe 150 meters away and began my approached to the feeder. At 100-120 I was finally in good enough position(the way the terrain is and the angle of the treeline) to get eyes on, and sure enough saw these fucks, while not blowing my concealment of the treeline. I crept into position to around 75-100 and posted up. I took the larger hog outside the fenced in portion first and it was quite the site to see afterwords; these bastards just went crazy bouncing off the damn fence back and forth just completely loosing their shit lol. I got up and rushed, sprinted towards, the feeder before any of them could get out!!! However, one did manage to escape but I nailed it before he ran off. So, being this was a "RAMPAGE" and wanting to get lots of aggression out, I fire a whole mag from the hip like Rambo! Now, I'm black on ammo and three little piggies, gut shot and leg shot and all, crawl underneath and nearly escape. I track them down and CLUB them with a tree branch! I bring them back only to discover two more ALIVE inside. Jog back to the house, grab my bandoleer, hop in the truck and head back to the feeder to complete my RAMPAGE! Get back to the feeder, whip my RAT 3 bleed those two little fuckers with Columian necks ties. WHAT A DAY!!!!

-AAR-
2 points that were really driven home too me that morning, and it what makes it even worse is that I KNOW BETTER:

1. NEVER leave the house with the intentions of shooting something/hunting without some type of warbelt/light chest rig with extra mags and a knife, especially on a "hunting jog"(you could throw in a secondary and some mags in too). I didn't do the right thing here; every other time I do this, I knew I was going hunting, I knew contact was very possible, I knew anything could happen and I went against insticts and was complacent.

2. NEVER act like a fuck-tard regardless of what's going on or what aggresions you need to get out and fire from the hip! Where to begin with this one? Let's see...I wasted 18/19 rounds, innacurate fire allows anything to remain alive run off, UNDISCIPLINE, you look like a douche, UNDISCIPLINE, wasted rounds, I could go on and on and on.

Awesome. You do bring up some valid points... Wish I lived in a Hog infested area... Kinda lol

With a suppressed Blackout or Whisper, you could have dropped them all at the distance, without any commotion. They would not have been any wiser as to what was going on. Good Score.

-DaJudge-
No question about running suppressed, you are absolutely right. However, I like many people, do not have the patience or the WANT to put up with the ridiculous loops to jump through to obtain SBRs/Suppressors. Do I want? HELL YEA! Will I ever have? Unless laws change, absolutely not.

In regards to the Blackout or Whisper, hahaha, no comment.

Thanks for the reply!!

Good shootn but let me add if I may.

Point 3: Ferrel swine are known to carry many blood borne diseases including Brucilosis, never smear piggy blood on bare skin, it isn't worth the effect.

Point 4: Do some freakn pushups before your next photo shoot, man boobs are known to make Hide members puke.

Still a great day afield and by the looks, a ton of delicious barbeque for you and the family, good killn and eatn there.

Point 3, is well taken.

Point 4, absolutely right. I have been working extremely hard on getting rid of that. It IS pretty gross and am continuing to rid myself of those as I'm reaching my body goals, clearly not there just yet.

Didn't know that we needed to worry about impressing other guys with our appearance...guess there are members here that just play for their own team.

Great shooting... That rambo thing, so what- if you had fun and weren't careless in the direction of your shots then it's all good.

Very true in regards to impressing other guys with our appearance, but, still, it doesn't change the fact that I need to work on it. And I am, very much so.

Your dead on about making sure not to fire carelessly, I made it a apoint to scare them into one certain corner with a good back drop to unleash into them.

I like to hunt just as much as the next guy, but carelessly shooting and wounding several animals is a bit idiotic and disgusting in my book. Bragging about it is even worse. I'd rather have taken a single hog with a well placed head-shot than 12 like this.

By killing all 12 of them he made the ecosystem a better place for deer, turkey, and a number of other species of animals that are threatened by wild pigs.

oh squid get over it sister they are hogs and they needed to die who gives a fuck how he did it.Whiskeytango way to go.

Who won? Rambro rules! Dang dude the great thing about a long gun is it fires from a distance. I had a bunch n a pen similar to that and wasted the whole lot with a Ruger 22 pistol. Eyes and ears are great entrance point for a hollow point

WT, good deal and a hoot too. That's a fine pile of Bacon Rabbits! Those of us with the hog infestations, don't have to sleep and commune with the hog.....fucking knowble knowitall, what it is it with the the bunny huggers up in the northwest?

Dood, +1 on the careful with the pig blood...between their piss and blood, they are known to carry 17 or 18 zootropic diseases, meaning demonstrated species jumpers. That's what makes the little shits so bad. They can pass through your place, waller in one of your ponds and the next week all your horses, goats or whatever is sick. State of MS has basically a kill order on hogs with disclaimer to not handle them if not used to working feral pigs and pathogen guidelines. When the state tells you to shoot them and leave them where they lay.......it's worth wearing a pair of nitrile gloves when handling.

I still don't know why they arent' classed as carnivores. A farming friend of ours up the road three miles, caught the hogs eating two of her kid goats. I've seen young hogs, chasing down our muskovy ducklings. Bite them on the head and start eating them. I've also seen what my 22-250 do to that noggin' between the ear and eye, spectacular I tell you!

My experience with suppressed is: If them hog been shot at before, suppressed don't matta a hoot. When that bullet hits that grizzle plate or noggin' it make a definitive noise....them li'l fuckers is still gonna run everywhere. some of them will run right at you, cause the don't know where the shot come from, but they gonna run.

Keep the heat on 'em brother!

Whiskeytango50 you're a good sport for handling the insults so well. Keep exterminating those wild vermin and go to the hospital to get a check up. With that blood on your face I'm really hoping you didn't catch something serious.

Hey it's all good Ultra!! I've got some pretty damn thick skin so I'm not worried about it at all, I knew what I might be getting into by posting. I love the Hide! I will definitely keep on eye on that may run and get tested.

I understand what your saying, I really do. Was it questionable judgement on my part? Absolutely. I will say Man has to live with the decisions he makes; right, wrong, questionable etc. As long as that man can live with himself and the decisions he has made in his life, he's gonna be just fine. The first two I took were good clean kills the rest were in fact barbaric and questionable ethics were used. But, I will have this memory for the rest of my life. We are all entitled to our opinions and I respect and appriciate your opinion here on the Hide.

-Tackleberry-
That is EXACTLY what I was talking about by carrying the secondary with you; it would have been perfect for the distance I closed to!

-Southbreeze-
I've always understood pigs being distgusting and filthy creatures, but had no idea of 17/18 different diseases! We typically do practice safe habits disposing of or cleaning any type of wild game.

Keep up the comments!

How many diseases do humans carry???

You know little of what you're talking about. Hogs are a threat to a community. They are significantly destructive to farm lands,
livestock as well as small children and just about anything else that gets in their way.

Wounding one is just as good as killing one. What will happen is that hog will wonder off and die or will be attacked by other hogs and coyote. In any case it's removed as necessary.

Kill only 1? You're not doing your job for the community. You have a responsibility to eliminate as many of the threat as you can.

Damn dood, how many humans you killing and getting your blood all over you? Isn't that why all med staff/first responders all have barrier kits??? The point is they carry shit that jumps species!

While I still stand that I always try and take animals as cleanly as possible, I can understand in a way. The first time I went duck hunting it was a slaughterfest. So much fun I didn't even think about it. I guess the biggest thing for me was that I wounded an elk and spent four days looking for it. It was never found and I felt like utter shit about it for a long time. That experience changed my perspective.

That said, no I don't live anywhere with feral hog issues (though I wish I did cause I love bacon).

Thanks for the mature response.

Squid. You sound like you could use a good hog hunt to see what all the ruckus is about, plus it would give you a first hand experience into the threat and danger involved with them.

I've been charged well over a dozen times now by feral hogs, wild boar, and razorbacks(there is a big difference between all of them in my own opinion).

I at the very extreme I've seen them clip the roots of trees and turn sections of forested area into clearings, at the very least they will prey upon turkey eggs, and mess up a potentially good turkey season. I'm listing this part to underscore the already physical danger they possess by their ability to charge, and maim animals well more than twice their size.

You're an ethical hunter I can see, and I humbly applaud you for it, but hogs are not listed as a big game animal for a great reason, and nor should they ever be. They're a menace for reasons already listed, and should be listed in my opinion as something along the lines of a rodent or a coyote(They are in my state) in terms of actual environmental benefit(coyotes at least keep the rodent population down). Their reproductive rates are unbelievable as well(That's why you aim for the biggest female first, since she's the biggest threat to everything).

If I had some land with some hogs, then I would invite you for a mutually beneficial hog hunt hog hunt, but I'm sure there are many Hide members who own land, impacted by hogs, in Texas(or any of the other southern states), who might give you the same offer.

Take care, and if you do get to hunt them, then aim for the head first, and the shoulders second. If you're deciding what caliber gun to get before a hog hunt then follow this formula...

Accuracy+Penetration=Bacon

Good luck, and once you go hunt them, then you'll understand.

P.S...No Bag Limit.

Well I was really thinking of something clever and mature to say to the notification of PETA. I guess all I can do is "Cry havoc and "let slip the hogs of war"" LOL.

Sounds like a good time. I am heading out to Houston this summer I have to see if I can get someone to let me come shoot hogs on their land with them

PETA says they are going to use drones now to spy on hunters.

Even though the Drone shotgun ammo was an April Fools Day joke, it's starting to look like a good thing in this instance.

PETA as in People Eating Tasty Animals

On a second note - I'm thinking about getting that damn leupy scope with the hog reticle :). I mean, ya gotta do it right?

Breeze

WT50 - get you a beta C mag! That'll fix them!

Those of us with our own personal drones look forward to this.

I'd like to do some mods to one of my helis, gliders or planes...nice protection drone that would remove any autonomus or FPV flight vehicle from the subject area.

I love the rampage pic. Me and 50Cal have had a couple of rampages and it it quite refreshing.

-Breeze-
I've heard and read the C-mag is crap?! Do you have one? What say you?

-h4everything-
Funny how a rampage can bring about certain absolute....refreshness?!

I've never run full auto with one, but in single tap mode I've never had any issues with it. Had over 6 years now and put 800-900 rounds through it.

Here's my best pal's son giving it a go.

Congrats!

I like the result but not the method. I don't care If you shoot, stab or beat the hell out of them, but do it clean.
Been hunting hogs for a long time, feral or not: all game deserves a clean kill. That's my opinion.

pigs are like pdogs disease infested vermin that need to die how i dont care as long as they are dead. The only thing better about the pig is they are edible

WT,

I came back to this thread thinking you woulda been pissed at my man boob comment lashn out, being gay etc but being that you rejected my pointy stick to your manhood with honor and intelligence.... I now deem thee part of the brotherhood of hawg slayers! By the way I have three man boobs! LOL. Great job and welcome to the gang brother.

-Breeze-
Thanks for the info! I may pick one up one of these days, if I EVER see them at a reasonable price again LOL.

-B.B.A.-
I hear you, honestly, I really understand and feel the same way with regards to ethics and the morality of the hunt. I have ZERO hard feelings to anyones opinion posted here. I mean hell, I read through and agree with a lot of what's in the whole new post by hlee "kill 'em all?". I've been thinking of numerous ways of how I wanted to respond to the whole ethics and morality arguments of it, not that I NEED to justify it or something, but I absolutely WILL NOT allow myself to stir the pot/loose sleep over/get angry by other opinions on the Hide, one of the few forums I absolutely have a man crush on! I respect, value, and thank all yall for the contribution of knowledge to this thread. I will stand by my two observations I made in original post, in particular point number two:

"2. NEVER act like a fuck-tard regardless of what's going on or what aggresions you need to get out and fire from the hip! Where to begin with this one? Let's see...I wasted 18/19 rounds, innacurate fire allows anything to remain alive run off, UNDISCIPLINE, you look like a douche, UNDISCIPLINE, wasted rounds, I could go on and on and on." On and on and on includes the ethics and morality of it and we could LITERALLY go on and on and on with it.

Now, plain and simple; I planned the rampage, I executed the rampage, and I wanted to rid mother Earth of this disgusting creature to help with pig population numbers and improve my ecosystem. I can live with my actions of the day.

-strick9-
Hey thanks!! There's no reason to be pissed/childish/be gay about it. I don't like them, I hate them, and I'm working on them! They should be gone soon enough; with the amount of cardio I'm doing and the weights I'm hitting, I'll be just fine here soon enough. I knew before posting I'd get some grief about them lol, just as long as no one gave me any guff about my arms and shoulders because THEN we would have words hahaha. And I brought that up after someone was looking at it shortly after it happened, I said "...if only my abs and chest were in the same condition my arms and shoulders were". Maybe not so much now, but SOON.

Oh, these 2 pictures of the same hog are a couple months old but I think they are pretty great. Here's a clean through and through at 80-100 with piggy on the move.

Hogs are omnivores--they eat anything. They are also classed as carrion eaters, as they will eat dead animals---ones they didn't kill.

Only thing better would hve been if you had dropped the AR and gone straight to dual wielding pistols before the knife.

Next time your out for a jog make sure you take the AR, 2 1911s, and a tactical tomahawk.
