The twins below have #5's @ 24".
The closest in the picture is my own hunting rifle that I just rebuilt.

I took mine to the range with 140 Nosler Ballistic tips. It seems to like IMR 4831 at 3150 fps. It also shot 1/2" with IMR 4350 at 3250 fps so I'll be fine tuning the 4350. I've shot a lot of bucks over the years with the 140's and 4350. It hits them hard out to 600 yds!

Thanks for looking! </div></div>

Very good looking hunting rigs. Might be the perfect combo.

Any chance you know what these rifles weigh?

And this ridiculous aluminum muzzle brake that failed first shot. It bent down from the muzzle blast. Glad I didnt fire the second shot..

The 50 in the "Big Mac" stock is a single shot. I shot it today 9 times unbedded. It looks promising. Shot about 1.25MOA. I feel very strongly that after bedding, and some cheek piece stock work, I will be able to consistently shoot it under 1MOA. It's my new rifle and my first 50BMG. They are a different animal!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Keith I really admire your work! Cant wait to get my build started next month!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Keith, are you guys doing fluting on the bolts now or are the ones above fluted somewhere else? I have been following you guys for a while and thought maybe it was a new service being offered. If you guys didn't do the fluting, do you know where it was done? Thanks and keep up the good work!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Some nice work coming out fo your shop! What do you charge for the digital camo on a stock?

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

No fluting yet from us.
Not sure who did those above.

Digital jobs are still new to us. They're between $100 and $200 depending on how detailed and number of colors.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

All caught up on bolt knob installs again guys.

The PCR 50BMG I built recently is shooting GREAT. It seems to be a half MOA 50cal. I'll have some pics of it finally finished with Cerakote. I'll have finished pics and group pics within a few weeks.

We're very busy now and getting time to go shoot or get on Snipershide is rare.
Call us for best communication.

All caught up on bolt knob installs guys.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

I would love it if you would respond to my pm's about a bolt knob. You've read them but won't respond to me.

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

I looked through my PMs and didnt see one from you. Im sorry If I somehow deleted it, or maybe it got sent to Brad.

Give us a call if you want at either 4807470528, or 4804678090

Thanks. And again, sorry for any inconvenience.

All caught up on knob installs guys.

Thanks!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

All caught up on bolt knob installs guys.

We are extremely busy right now upgrading our shop. We're building a huge, bad ass bake oven for H-series Cerakote.
Added a lathe to the shop recently, changed/improved some methods and operations.

Because of how busy we've been, our time spent on snipershide posting pictures and answering PMs has been greatly reduced.

We will be finished with this years upgrades soon and will be back to posting tons of rifle pictures and group pics.

We're doing better than ever and have made several improvements to our shop this year.

Thank you for all the support and business guys!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Looks cool Keith. How much does it weigh? Why is the ejection port on the opposite side of the bolt handle?

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Ehh, its ok. I think it need a bigger brake tho, that one wont be enough to notice.

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Groups, plz. Also I love the opposite side ejection port. As long as it doesnt sling brass in my face. It'd make it easier to recover said brass for reloading quickly.

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Here is a pic of my favorite stock for under $300. Its a Choate shaped a lot like an A5. Its all polymer but its strong as hell, and I'd prefer it over most HS Precisions and any B&C stock.....

And last but not least is a 338 Lapua Mag Ackley Improved barreled action built off a Defiance action....

Everyone.... Physical work(building/shipping rifles) gets most of our attention right now.

If we're hard to get a hold of, please keep trying. We apologize for any frustration. If you leave a voicemail, and don't hear back from us within 36 hours, call again.

My number is 480-467-8090
Brads number is 480-747-0528

Our shop phone is listed on our website. We still need to set up our voicemail on it so don't bother leaving a voicemail. Just call our cell phones.

Than you so much everyone for the business.
We appreciate it!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Seeing these pics makes the wait while you guys build my rifle that much harder. Nice looking work guys

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

Thanks a ton Brandon!

We're moving along nicely this year.... while expanding in every way possible.

Our quote of 4-5 month build times might be a little longer than actual. We'd rather quote longer than expected so we dont let people down.

If anyone out there has a build with us that is overdue, or within weeks from being overdue, call me! 480-467-8090

We do our best to deliver when promised. And we do take it very seriously.

Our average build time has been about 3 months. Some have been done as quickly as 2 months for a complete build, some take 5 or 6 months due to waiting on parts(stocks mostly).

Do not hesitate to call us and ask for an update and ask when we'll be starting. If your build is approaching the quoted build time, give me a call.

Our Cerakote quality has gone up. We now use H series Cerakote on all metal parts. It has been coming out GREAT. We cerakote a rifle per day almost.
Our machining practices are also improving. We build more and more jigs and buy more and more specialized tooling to help us do the best job possible... While keeping wait times down to less than our competition.

Thank you so much to everyone who supports us. We'll be here MANY more years to come to serve you in all your rifle-smithing needs!

Re: Phoenix Custom Rifles work pics and reviews

I was abit sketchy in spending $90 on getting a knob installed, and was seriously debating on getting the KRG knob that you just tighten on for $28.

But keith had a promo going for $70 so i said to hell with it. Sent him off the knob on the 5th, which was a tuesday, he called me that friday, just to confirm if i wanted it painted or not, as i didn't say, ( now thats customer service) most places would just assume you din't want it painted, but he took the time out of his day to call, which i think was around 4pm after work hours. I told him na i just wanted to live it his words were" yea it looks damn good how it is" i told him hell yea man i will deff send more your way if i ever get another gun.

Well........

He was right, it does look damn good, and is so much easier to chamber now that i got something to hold onto, doesn't feel rough anymore, nice and smooth. best damn $70 i've spent this year. my shity webcam photo doesn't do this thing justice.

If you're looking to get a bolt worked on do it, type of quality and customer service he showed me, just earned him a life-long customer, any future gunsmithing i may need will be going to him.

thanks man, i'm not but 20, so i hope you're around for a long long time, good luck and good health.

Here is something a little different!

...let me explain

A local shooter brought me an A3 with a basic inlet which means that the top only was inlet for SA M700 and barrel channel.

We inlet the mag well, trigger well, bottom for Badger M5, ejection port, handle cut out and filled in some of the barrel channel that had a large gap in the cylinder area because it was inlet for a larger and longer cylinder than his rifle. Installed 3 studs and a 1" recoil pad.

He had a barreled action that he had setback himself which was coated in "C" series Sniper grey and had visible scuff and wear marks. He wanted us to spray over the scuff marks to cover them up and we came up with the idea to do this instead. We added Armour black and Tactical Grey in "C" series in a camo pattern over his Sniper Grey and this is how it turned out.

Let me know what you think.

Wicked!!!!
Very nice i like the color combination on barrel

Thanks. I did it as a freebie. Remember, he was looking to keep with the Sniper Grey/Desert Camo look because he didn't want the expense of re-coating the rifle. If I touched up the existing Cerakote, it wouldn't have looked good. The way I did it, all that I had to do was clean the existing Cerakote, add some tape and couple more colors.

Brad it turned out great. might have to do that to the 6.5-284 your building.

Can you do that to the metal with other colors? If you could do it in matching desert colors like the stock, I would be very interested in doing that to mine when I get my parts to you.

Yes. We prefer to start from scratch by blasting the rifle with 120 grit AO, apply a base color Cerakote and add 2 more. We can talk colors.
