Not sure about what brake, but the next mod is a new bolt knob. A friend's girlfriend did the sling and it works very well.

Went to the range last week after installing the new stock and am very pleased. Had one flyer (which was all me) in this five shot group at 100 yds

I'm currently looking for one of these, but I can only find the 16" What bbl length is yours?

Check out www.proprecisionrifles.com or www.boltfluting.com. Paul is on here as BoltFluter, and commented above.

I am kicking myself for not finding his services sooner. I shipped mine off to Super Tactical Services in Kentucky to have the bolt helical fluted and to have a tactical knob installed. It seems that their 10-12 day turnaround was misrepresented and is more like a 20-30 day processing... Grrrrrr

Holy Cow Really!?!? I've been having the Exact Opposite Problem! I've been searching Everywhere for the 16" .308 AAC-SD and all I can find is the 20" Versions!

Sweet Looking Rig Bro! Mine is going to be 16" Inch with Surefire Brake in a AICS 2.0 Chassis. Goal is as Compact and Handy as possible. I will also be using the Vortex Viper PST 4-16 FFP Mil/Mil for mine. Can't wait!

Great looking rifle. We have very similar set ups. I'm lefty and shoot right handed bolts as well.

Side note, look into the KRG bolt knob. They really are nice and only like $28. If you don't like it you just take it off.

Is it a .308 or .300 blk out? The .308 comes with 20 in barrel and .300 blk out comes with 16 in barrel

Remington 700 SPS Tactical 308 AAC Threaded : Bolt Action Rifles at GunBroker.com

Remington 700 AAC-SD in .308 with 20" threaded barrel.

Getting mine from here. Can't find any, anywhere else. Even with my FFL; and since these are close to dealer price, I don't mind getting from him. He hasn't received my payment yet, so he (understandably) hasn't shipped my rifle. I'm going nuts here like a 5 year old at Christmas waiting for it to come so I can get to the range.

Bought a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6500 4.5-30x50 scope, Badger Maximized 30mm rings and base, Harris short and medium bipods and Jewell trigger (1.5oz to 3 lbs) so far. Next up is an AICS AX stock and a KRG bolt nob lift. Luckily for me, I also ordered a .308 suppressor (have SOT too) to go along with this that *should* be here this week, perhaps next week from wholesaler.

Until I can get the AICS AX, I'm going to bed the factory Hogue stock, place the stock on the bipod and sand down anything that touches the barrel (or thinks about it).

Good luck and lemme know what you end up going for.

Very nice looking stick!!! Love the paint job!
Ive got one my self and couldnt be happier with it!! Took it out to 1100yds this past weekend with pretty consistent hits! They are a great shooting rifle for the price!

I'm trying to piece together a similar rig myself. That ParaCord sling looks amazing, how long is it? Could you post any more pictures of it, I'm really curious about how it connects, what hardware she used etc..

Sweet Looking rifle!!!

BudsGunshop is out of stock currently on the AAC-SD, anyone else have a line on a retailer where they're instock?

what kind of scope rings and what size are these scope rings on this setup?

A buddy of mine did the sling and he said it took about 75 feet. I'm currently at my picture limit until I hit 100 posts so I will have to make small talk until then.

As far as the paint job, I started by painting just the stock. It came in black and I had settled on flat dark earth. After I painted the stock, I thought long and hard about painting the rest of the rifle knowing I would add a second color if I did. I decided to paint the rest of the rifle FDE until the coyote brown arrived a week later.

The best thing I did was buy an air brush to apply the Duracoat.

I have also installed a Badger Ordinance tactical bolt knob. As a lefty shooting a right handed bolt gun, it makes things so much easier.

How do you like your vortex and nightforce mounts?

Hey vegasjeepguy how well does the paint stick to your flip up caps and if it sticks good what did you do? When I sprayed mine with some quality paint it would chip off just from dropping the scope cap on the ground. And how do you like that sling? Does it cuff up good? I have seen them a couple places but have not pulled the trigger on one due to my skepticism on how well they lend them selves to use for unsupported and improvised positions.

Due to the flex of the plastic on the Butler Creek caps, paint tend to flake a bit...but I think that only adds character. As far as the sling I don't think it is very useful for unsupported positions as it is pretty stiff. Someone with more unsupported experience can probably answer that better than I. It may loosen up, but it is primarily for throwing the rifle over my shoulder...but I do like it.

I picked up a steel target locally from LV Steel Targets a few months ago. Makes shooting so more enjoyable having a "reactive" target. Never get tired of hearing that PING.

I was assuming by friends girlfriend you were talking about a SHE, guess I could be wrong lol. Any idea if the connectors are scrapped off a different sling or know if she found a website selling just the connectors?

I'm jealous of the entire rig bud, looks amazing!
