SW AMMO UPDATE THREAD

For the new 308 175 SMK ammo - looks like they are waiting on brass. From another thread, this is the response I got from Zach yesterday;

"The brass is coming, the only delay we have is the arrival of the brass.

I am great full for the company making the brass for us. They have been awesome to deal with considering they do not need my business. They have basically made the future of SW ammo more realistic to what is possible. Just like the people who have been so patient with us in the past, we will do something for you guys.

I was just hoping that someone like yourself had some news so that I wouldn't bother them with a question that they had already answered.

The wait sucks, but this will be my third order from them. So far, nothing shoot better than their ammo.
Until I start reloading, they are my go-to company.
 
I reload, buy big name ammo and order from SWAMMO, good to diversify, use the store bought for the kids, SWAMMO and my own are used for me.

Just got back from a range day shooting the 175SMK group buy from November at 100 yards. The <.3inch group I shot reminded me why this is worth the wait. Thank you Tornado for the info.
 
Any updates for order 2981, ordered 2/1/13. The check for what was supposed to be in stock 5.56 and 300 blackout was cashed months ago, haven't heard anything since then

The 50tsx ammo is the hold up. I have the 125's ready to go. I am pushing hard on the blkout orders and 556 orders. I will be busy filling 308 orders when the brass arrives so I want to knock out the 556 and 300blkout orders the next couple of weeks.

308 brass update, SWA headstamp:

I was told it will be shipping in the next two weeks. I am trying to clear as much as much as we can before it arrives. I am also hoping for the Lapua 308 brass to arrive anytime now as well.

Any idea what is going on at Southwest Ammunition???

I made my order in 11/26/2012, and got a message on my answering machine a month ago telling me that my ammo was ready but they had questions and if it was okay to change the brass or not. I called them multiple times and got a busy signal. Finally got through and left a message with my email and mobile phone number, never heard back from them. I also emailed them 2 weeks ago, again no reply from them.

Zach, any status update on order #2278?
 
Hi Zach, Any update on order #2916 placed on 1/29? I was told a couple weeks ago to call back last Friday if I hadn't received a tracking number but I've been unable to get through. I left a VM. Also just an FYI When I tried to call today I got some weird message saying the local phone company was unable to connect to this number. Not sure if that was on my end or yours but I figured you might want to know if it was yours.

VKC, I implore you to try and call them again. My experience has been that while it's difficult to get through if you do get through or have to leave a message, they will call you back and honestly try to get you taken care of. Try calling at the end of the day when call volume isn't as great, you may have better luck. I hope you get your ammo soon, it's worth it, IMO. It sounds like you haven't had the luck I have, but do keep trying as it seems to me that they seem to be trying to catch up while still having trouble getting brass enough to fill all orders.

In the case of one of my orders, I agreed to let them substitute different brass for the Winchester I ordered and received my order on Saturday after 3 months. It is worth it. Their ammo shoots better than I do.

I got the same message today about the phone company not being able to connect it. Figured the lines were down for some reason.
 
I took the phone down today, needed to help in the back. I was spinning my wheels with all the emails and phones. Phones will be back up in the afternoon tomorrow.

Not ignoring anyone, just trying to ship ammo. We did get a good amount of orders out today.

My guys are doing a great job, so far a great team here.

So far we have a good steady flow of brass to run reman 556 and blkout. Mike just got ahold of powder for blkout and 556, primers supply is good.

We just got ahold of 48000 pieces of 260 brass, we will post it up for sale as soon as I get the shipping notice from the supplier, and I get a good count on what I owe to others.

The pm box is clear, send me some Pm's if you need to get ahold of me.

Same here, have brass and bullets, looking for reloading price/availability. If you can get once fired brass, ok with that also. Looking to combine it with the next .308 order for reloading.

If I didn't get the in stock notice and the page saying it was ready to ship when I ordered I wouldn't care. I have no problem placing another backorder for ammo, I just want to know what I'm getting into.

I placed this order, order #4811 - for the run-and-gun .308, two weeks ago. They obviously have/had the misc. brass they use for that available.

I still do have an open order from 3/7 for the SWA brass product, which I am very looking forward to receiving and trying out. I have high hopes. However, I do know that despite promises they received from their supplier, this brass has not arrived yet. I'm thinking I should get another order in this week to keep the pipeline filled.
 
About to order a couple hundred rounds of 5.56, just wondering what the estimated current shipping time would be? Only reason I ask is because I'm moving in a month or so.

zyrtec9, perhaps try emailing or calling them to get an idea. They have been pretty responsive to me, the few times I've tried to contact them directly. Or PM Zach per his post above (swammo).
 
New orders of 556 are tough to judge time wise. Between 300blkout and 556 it is really hard to give a good estimate. between 4 to 10 weeks for the reman. Some have waited longer, but I am getting somewhat of a rhythm down with this surge going on. The processing just takes up a lot of time, I cannot wait for the new 556 brass to come back in.

We will be putting 260 up this evening or tomorrow morning. We got a hold of 80,000 pieces of 260 brass. I still owe 2000 to current orders, I got the word the brass is ours so it will go up soon. 142's will be the only option until I can get some Scenars from anywhere.

Zach, any update on 2143, order was placed nearly 6 months ago and my credit card was charged then. I have sent emails to the customer service link you provided and also sent you PM's but have not had any reply. Concerned that somehow this order was lost as numerous folks have posted that they have received their orders which were placed well after mine.

Several people including myself have asked and haven't gotten a response. Is 300 Win Mag going to be available anyone soon? Why was it taken down? Seems like there is significant interest.
 
Calm down charger hehehe, I snt him a PM and got an answer last night, see below.


We have been talking about it. Since we cannot get wimmag brass right now, we might do some reload orders for 300 wimmag since we have the powder to do it. We are first trying to get a hold on what we have in outstanding order before we do so. Look for it in a couple of weeks if we plan to do it.

Order #5424 placed on 4/19/13. I am lucky enough to live down the street and was able to pick it up a week later.

The 175 SMK ammo is EXCELLENT.

That is fortunate indeed, Desert. What was it that you ordered? I'm mainly wondering if they got their headstamped brass in yet, but if you meant literally a week after 4/19 then never mind.

I believe that the head-stamped brass is not in yet. I have had luck with receiving the .308 run-and-gun loads. They seem to have the components in for those. I also am waiting for my SWA head-stamped ammo, but in the meantime have received two orders of the run-and-gun.
 
Order submitted: 400 rds of .260 Remington (200 139 scenar & 200 142 SMK) and 500 rds of 300 BLK 220 OTMs!

I wonder how quickly they'd turn around my brass if I sent it in since brass seems to be the main component their having trouble getting in stock, anyone know the answer to that one?
 
I just want to let everyone know, we have 142's for the 260 but no 139 Scenars currently.

The 80,000 pieces of 260 brass did ship as of yesterday, It will arrive Tuesday next week. I have a few backed orders for 260, I will fill them first. There is not a lot though around 1000 rounds back ordered.
The 260 brass is not the SWA head stamped brass, it is not Remington brass either, it is very nice brass, probably the best domestically made brass available for 260.

Wow, just stumbled onto this thread. I ordered the only 338 in stock, 1 box of 250gr Scenars on 5/1 (order #5556), it shipped on 5/3, and arrived at my house a couple days later. Excellent customer service if you ask me (other than I want more and they're out of stock! :p).

Can't wait to get my rifle out to the range and broken in to give these guys a try. I'm interested to try 300 SMK's and 300 Scenar's as well to see which my AX338 likes best. Then once I get a small stockpile of brass built up I'll be sending it to you to reload. Hope you all get more components in soon!
 
Any updates on Order 5508? I wanted to send in 200 rounds of brass and 178gr A-max bullets to be loaded, but i noticed your website says the reloading service is suspended. Any idea when yall will begin offering this service again?

I ordered 175 SMK (Order #5486) on 4/24 and I haven't received a shipping notice yet. :(
 
Order # 5380 placed on 4/14 for 5 boxes .338 LM 250gr scenar, site says on the shelf ready to ship but nothing yet. Wtf? About to cancel and go back to my old supplier. I understand that times are busy but how long does it take to drop something in the mail? 1-2 weeks I understand with backlog but 30 days and not even an email? Come on.
 
83,000 pieces of 260 brass shipped, will arrive by by Tuesday.

Will have the back orders filled by Thursday, shipping new orders by Friday the 17th.

338 Lapua order numbers 5380 and 5352 will ship on Monday. My apologies HawkDriver.

Still waiting on the Lapua brass. My 308 brass will be shipping next Thursday is what I am being told so we can do a change if you want, I do not have an answer on a time line for Lapua brass to get to me. It was suppose to be to me by the end of December.

hey guys this is my first post here but I do have an introduction in the new guy section. I ordered 100 rounds of the preorder sw headstamp .308 order #5165 on 3/29. I then changed order on the 2nd or 3rd week of april to the 175 grain run and gun when I found the sw brass had been delayed. Just got my shipping notice on thursday and ups says it should be here by the 16th which is next thursday. So excited cant wait for it to show up, going to join quantico shooting club as soon as ammo arrives so if anyone shoots there maybe you can help a newbie out and give me some pointers. Anyway didnt mean to get off topic but from what Ive heard I know the ammo is gonna be great stuff. Will definitely be ordering from swammo again. Thanks you to zach, kristen and all the employees there you guys have been great.
