    Surprise, AZ
After a thorough cleaning of the chamber and flutes and switching mount from the ARMS claw mount to the MFI Low profile mount took the HK to the range today. After zeroing in with the MFI mount I shot 3 5 shoot 100 yards groups. 1,42" 1.2" and the last group really surprised me 0.86". Now if I can repeat it on my next trip I wii be a happy camper. Many thanks to ORD, Razor and all the others who helped me get this thing shooting. the load that performed for me was 41.5 grains of 4895 behind 168 smk's.

Glad to see it's starting to shoot true for you, please keep us informed of future progress. I know these guns are great shooters in the right hands, and I'm sure that this one is in good hands.

    Razor,
Will do but for now it is back to my AIAW. Again thanks for all your help and encouragement.

Good deal, Sam!! Sounds like you have got it moving in the right direction. I think you'll find those results are more than repeatable over time.

Congrats again on getting her running smoother for you and as always...I'll be keeping you and yours (especially your brother) in my prayers!

My brother is doing well and is off his pain meds. All his lab work showed no remaining cancer. He will be going for checks every three months for the first year than every six months for the next year. After that every year. Thanks for all your help once again and for keeping my brother in your prayers.

I had similar results with my 911 after a Williams trigger services set trigger was done. Similar load but 43.5 grains of the 4895.

Lots of reports of using the SMk 175's for possibly even better results. I have a group where four holes are touching and the fifth was a called flyer.

I use a Dillion 550 also. What brass are you using?

Because the HK is not reloader friendly I use R-P, WW and GI LC brass. I sort them by name into individual 50 round MTM boxes. After firing I tumble them in the Large Midway vibrating dumbler. Yesterday it was R-P that I was using. I save my Lapua brass for my AIAW and TRG 22. I also use the Dillon 550 but take the round out at the powder drop station and use the RCBS ChargeMaster to dispense the IMR 4895. Then reinsert to load the smk's and factory crimp.

sounds like a lot of work with no return (rifle not being reloader friendly) you must like that HK

It is a lot of work but I do that for all my 223 and 308 rifles. Unless I do that the Dillon powder measure drops can vary way to much to tell what kind of groups the rifles are capable of. Any other caliber I load on the Dillon I just run them thru all the Dillon stages since they are used for my class III weapons and small groups are not my prime concern..

It may be an awesome semi auto rifle but pales in comparison to my AIAW and TRG 22. Those are the two 308 rifles I do most of my tedious loading procedure for.

That's some nice hardware samnev, top of the line. My favorites are my DTA SRS and Blaser Tactical II.

    Razor74,
Both of those are awesome as well. The Blaser especially intrigues me. How does it shoot? I've only seen 1 at the range. I read a review of the DTA SRS in the Defense Review and it seems to be a track driver.

    Sam,
It is a tack driver, and because of the straight pull bolt action it is very fast. Both are multi caliber systems, I shoot the DTA in comp's because it's more compact easier to maneuver. But if I am shooting for groups from a bench or straight prone the Blaser is the best for stationary shooting, it's has more adjustments to fit the shooter better. The Blaser can be ordered as a right or left bolt, I'm right handed and I ordered mine right handed but if I could do it over I would have ordered it with the left hand bolt, that way you never have to take your shooting hand off the trigger once you are set almost as fast as a semi because the gun does not move.

    Razor,
What kind of groups does easy of the rifles shoot? What loads do you shot ut f each? When I have some extra $$$ I am always looking for n accurate rifle to buy. That is how I graduated to the TRG 22 then the AIAW.

I have a 91 wearing the MSG one adjustment stock and the Harris Set trigger group. I have not shot it in years but thought it produced .75 groups with bulk ammo from Georgia Arms from years ago. I just replaced the mount with Nightforce high mounts and am waiting low mounts for me to decide on which I prefer. The scope is a Nightforce 1.75 x 6 that was built specifically for night Leopard Shooting. After deciding on the mounts, I will bench shoot it and fire a couple of groups and report. The Harris work included replacing the trigger with a tig welded wide straight trigger, significantly removing slack, and significantly reducing trigger pull. It is good for a semi. I am normally a bolt guy, bench rest, and wildcats.

I have high dollar brass and recently got reloading dies but now realize that mine is too damaging to brass for me to be reloading. It probably has less than 100 rounds through it since new so maybe it will be better to brass after breaking in

Both of these rifles with good factory match ammo will shoot .50 to .25 groups if you do your part. I load sierra 175 with 44gr varget .010 off the lands. Both of these will do .25 and better with this load. I don't think that you would be unhappy with either of these rifles, if you want BIG things in a small package get the DTA. If you want innovative design cryo barrel get the Blaser. I don't know if they will be anymore accurate than your AIAW or TRG 22 but just as. Most people that get the DTA stop shooting there other rifles when they get it. I had to sell both of mine to cover some unexpected medical bills, but I now have the new DTA Covert A1 on order just playing the waiting game now. And I will have another Blaser as soon as I can get the funds up.

Most 91's are not very friendly to brass because of the way they eject so forcefully, so you may not want to use too much of your high dollar brass in it. For that matter a lot of AR's are just as bad. .75 moa is pretty good from a 91, congrats you got a good one.
