Im about to rebarel my 5r 308 into 6mm..pls share your experience/thoughts bet the two.this for strictly target (never for hunting) i know 6mm dasher pretty much the king on 6mm f class.. but i dont know if its worthed going there coz of all components very limited.. i also heard both 6CM and 6xc can fireform 22-250 thats a plus on both... things im looking to find out, barrel life bet both, what twist ideal both up to 1k i know both are very accurate which easier when comes to load developing. And barre length..

I was in the same place you were about 6 months ago. After some research I went with the 6 Creedmoor. They were both very good, but the 6CM seemed to be what I was after. Goggle it, they is info to be read.

Yes, the 6CM is so easy to fireform from 250 brass, but GAP & McCourt has brass at a good price as well. For target work Id get the same HV barrel or something close to it, for max velocity you could get another 3" than my 28" barrels, sure it's going to be heavy but who cares, you're just shooting paper. Even this young Marine thinks it's heavy, just a few more seconds while I focus, son. haha.

Very sexy rifle!

6XC may have a slightly longer barrel life due to a smaller powder charge and longer neck. Not enough to base any decisions on, though (in my opinion). The reason I chose the 6XC is the length of the neck. It gives you more options regarding seating depth. You can seat long and still have enough neck contact or seat shorter and still not end up in the "doughnut zone". You can easily size Hornady 6 Creedmoor brass to 6XC, but you will end up with a doughnut. Like I said, though, seating outside of the doughnut is no problem for the XC, as long as your throat allows it. Otherwise, you'll have to ream the case to get rid of it.

I can't speak for the 6 Creed, but I have yet to find a load that my 6XC doesn't like. Perfect for me, since I hate load development....

6 Creed will have slightly higher velocities.

The neck of the XC is only .010" longer than the creed. .305 vs .295".

Guys im staring at my action and barrel reading everyone comment thnx for all the help and advice. Hmm theyre so close that i cant realy decide.. what about the king of f class 6dasher
Can this round aply to tactical rifle? I saw a lot reviews on barrel life 1200rds startingto shoot crap...is it worthed?

I'm going 6 creed. Good brass for fairly cheap helps the situation. And you can still get brass in bulk from Andrew McCourt!

Frank should be done with my next barrel in 2 weeks, hope to have my next 6 Creed in 3-4 weeks.

If I can't end up getting this brand new damn 243 barrel to shoot I'm re-ordering another 6mm something and using it for a tomato stake. I like what I'm reading about the 6mmbr specifically. I don't know anthing about the 6 creedmoor, and am interested as I always have 6.5 creed brass available. Right now I feel like I wasted 300 dollars on this chunk of rifled steel, so I'll be following all the 6mm cartridge personalities to see what route I'm going. 200 rounds and I'm still barely shooting 1" at 100 yds...right now I really want me somthing to shoot 105's to 800 yards. Keep the posts coming, I'm in the same boat as op.

6mmbr already and keep proving his name.. 6creedmoor has more capacity so 3100 is much easier to achieve on bigger case.. but fps is not equal s accuracy..i already have grendel and very accurate 260 i wanted something inbetween thats why i wanted xc or 6m. If you realy want realy accurate 6mm check 6 dasher is 6mmbr in steriod:) its the king at the moment

What about a 6mm Competition Match or a 6mm Super L/R. If you want to reach out without buring the snot out of barrels, take a look.

Tell me the loads you tried, powder, bullets, etc etc. You could always have it rechambered to a 6 Creed, wink.
