From those who brought you CARS... one of my favorite movies, ever....

Just saw the preview for PLANES on AMC.

Can't wait. Having been to more than my share of airshows and the Reno Air Races... this movie looks like a fantastic flick.

Go Pixar... you almost never disappoint.

Cheers,

Sirhr

My son will love this just like he does Cars.

My little girl LOVES planes - I sense a new favorite movie coming up.

I just took my 5 yr old to this. Nothing creative at all, just generic storyline and formulaic crap
He liked it of course, But it was crap. And we all love aviation

Well we will have a planes 2 I'm sure coming out next from pixar. I wonder if they will do boats or trains after that.

...and I'm holding out for Howitzers...

Went to Planes tonite. I can see why the critics panned it. No Meryl Streep. No deep messages about global warming or Rwanda... no cowboys cornholing each other only to commit suicide in swanky New York hotels a few years later when they realized their careers were now reduced to making Batman movies... Nothing critics could possibly like.

Instead, it was cute, fun and lots of laughs. Monty Python References galore and John Cleese as a British plane and cameos by all kinds of amusing folks such as Val Kilmer in a Top Gun reference. The Corsair engine at full throttle is worth the price of admission... In some ways, the engine audio overlays were a highlight.

It was not as original as Cars when it first came out. Then again, nothing could be. But it was a fun watch. Fun and mindless with great animation. I'll probably have to see it on DVD to catch all the details I missed the first time.

See it... you will enjoy it. Unless you're a critic.

Cheers,

RPR

Took my 4yo and 2yo this past weekend. They loved it and can't stop watching the trailers on YouTube. Lol.

The third series must be Trains, to complete the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles trilogy. I'm sure John Candy would be pleased.
