So Cal
Well, ive had an elite tactical 3-12x 44 FFP mil dot with mil turrets- on my m14 for a while- always seemed like the mount wouldnt stay tight so i went back to iron sights on that one.

I just transfered this scope to my new 5R savage 10 PC in 308. Ive used it twice on this rifle, and now it goes blurry everytime the rifle goes bang. If i wiggle the power selector ring, it will clear back up (changing magnification never used to affect the focus). Seems like the reticle stays on target, but it loses its focus now- i think the selector ring may have actually moved once under recoil. something is wrong... Ideas? Anything i can tighten? Gotta have this thing serviced?

if its the focus issue, not sure you can do anything about it other than send for repair? usually focus wont affect by the rocil, unless its very lose?

Seems not the focus (on the eyepiece) or the side parralax- seems like something to do with the Zoom feature...So yeah. Great.

I was taking a class using a bolt gun and swfa 5-20. I was shooting at a target and noticed that my focus was jumping around after my shot. I told my instructor and he came over and fanned the barrel and the issue went away. It might just be that simple?

6.5 flyer has hit the nail on the head. What you are seeing is mirage off the barrel. There is nothing wrong with the scope. Now if you shot and it stayed "fuzzy" and never cleared up(hours, days, whatever) then you might have a problem.

Sounds more like a mechanical failure. I have had an IOR side focus shift with every shot requiring an adjustment each time but never seen one fail on the magnification side.

The lens is designed to run in and out with tilting and I bet what you are seeing is not the lense shifting back and forth but tilting and wiggling it may be setting the lens straight against the mechanism but each round just bumps it loose again.

Definitely gunna have to send it in.

You may have a lense that worked loose, see if you can duplicate it by hitting the butt of the rifle on the ground. I have had a few scopes do this, one even had a lense tip sideways.
Agreed.

Speaking of which....Confirmed today that two Bushnell DMRs, one of them mine, are broken: Dialing elevation above six Mils results in right windage from both. Also, dialing fast results in not enough elevation and an incorrect re-set to zero.
