Class III should be coming through any day now for my PWS MK109 SBR in 300BO that I will be shooting both supersonic 125 gr and subsonic 220-240 gr with a TBAC suppressor. Would like to hear opinions on what glass to put on top. I will be stretching it's legs a bit so I'd like to have something close to at least 6X on top but yet a 1X or 1.5X on the bottom. Looking at the Leupold 300BO scope but an MOA reticle would be fine too. What's the best bang for the buck? Viper? Nightforce? Any advice/opinion welcomed.

I have an 8.5" 300blk suppressed. I'm strongly looking at the vortex 2.5-10 ffp mrad. I like being able to use the reticle for hold offs when going from supers to subs. However, for me.... this is going to pull double duty on my rem 700 as well, so for me less than 10x on the top end isn't useful. But I would recommend something with reticle sub tensions to be able to instantly go from supers to subs and back without touching the dials. Once you zero for supers, just find out how low subs hit by a ballistic program and you're set.

if on budget I would take a SWFA Super Sniper 1-6
No budget limitations S&B PMII 1-8
Good luck anyway

I've owned several blackouts (or whispers) and prefer something in the 2-10 range. The best fit I had was an IOR 2.5-10 with 15 mils of drop on the reticle. For my rounds (110 amax and 208 amax), shift in zero from super to sub was about 5 mils. Being able to do that on the reticle is nice. Additionally, subs go down like a cheerleader on prom night, so lots of drop on the reticle is a very good thing.

I've not seen the Leupold but would avoid anything with specific markings for exact yardage on the reticle, they are never exactly right - at least not with ay super/sub combo I have ever run. I recommend getting a scope (I prefer mils) with at least 5-10 mils on the vertical.

You will ned to spend some time on the range with all rounds to know where everything hits on target. It really isn't much to track, once you figure out how to organize it. Find recipes the gun likes and stick with them.

The IOR tunneled, which I didn't like, only gripe. My 300blk wears a Swaro 3-10 with muzzle loader reticle now, with dope on a sticker on the mag well (super and sub.)

Lastly, even with subs and a can, 9" barrels are LOUD. If your gun will cycle it, my favorite recipe is 8.0 grains of lil gun over a 208 amax loaded to max mag length (I run magpuls which differ from GIs), that is the quietest recipe I have yet found. That is assuming a pistol position gas block, which I am guessing yours is.

For the 2.5-10x32 I have the vortex PST. I think it is better than the ior. I had both and i think it really comes sown to bang for the buck. It would be a good precision choice. I would also look at the leupold or vortex 1-6 options. Both great scopes. You have lits of good choices but it really depends on what you want to do. I run irons on one of my sbrs and with the right rear sight it's a great tool to 200 yards.

The SS 3-9x would be a winner too, with the 10 mils of holdover in the mil-quad reticle. I also think the 2.5-10x44 PST is better than people give it credit for, and is a pretty good value.
Call me nutty, but I really like the Falcon Menace 1.5-5x30 for being mil/mil and having a whopping 20 mils of holdover in the reticle, and its illuminated.... and pretty inexpensive.

Here is the mil-quad at 6x at 100 yards...because i can't seem to delete it for some reason...

Thanks for the replies so far. I would really like to keep the bottom end to 1.5 or less for short range use. This is an SBR after all. I really like the features of the Bushnell BUSHNELL SMRS but I'm having trouble plopping down 2 G's on a Bushnell. Does anyone have any experience with these? Top quality glass?

Consider 45 degree iron backups or a small red dot. Or a visible laser. Will you be hunting with this or clearing rooms? Or both?

100% range use. Backups are a possibility, the reason I'd like to stay with the smaller power is staying with a compact, lighter weight scope.

My 9" barreled 300BO SBR has an EOTech 512 on it. It's perfect for what I want that rifle to do. I don't plan on shooting that out past 100 yds or so. It has a QD mount so I could put another optic on it if I wanted to. My 14.5" barreled AR has a SWFA 1-6 on a QD mount and I have a SWFA fixed 10X on a QD mount ready to go, depending on the day. That's what works for me, it all comes down to what you want to hit and at what distance.

I run a 1-5x variable power as I'm still trying to figure out the accuracy potential of my barrel with a variety of different loads. Once I find a good, accurate plinker then I'll put some type of red dot on it and keep the 1-5x handy on a QD mount.

I'm looking at that exact scope for one of my 300BLK builds. I haven't seen one in person, but I have several other Bushnell "Elite Tactical" scopes (3-12x44 FFP, 6-24x50 FFP and 3.5-21x50 G2DMR), and I've been very happy with all of them. If the SMRS is anything like the G2DMR, it'll be worth the money... For me, it's just a matter of saving the money.
