Is it too late to backorder a Beast and expect to get it this year? If not what vendor has the best chance of getting it?

Most likely you will not find any retailers willing to take more orders for them. It will just depend if they get more built then anticipated and you might have a shot at getting one. At this stage though, looks like we all will be waiting for awhile.

That's disappointing. I've been trying find a scope worthy of that much coin and when I do its not available

I'd be glad to put you on our call list. I'm not taking any deposits because I don't want to sit on people's money and then have them call me every week wanting an update. But I'll be glad to call you when things start flowing.

Go ahead and put me on your call list. I'll pm my cell number to you. Whats your gut feeling on the chances of getting it this year?

I have two that I ordered back in Jan/Feb. I only plan on keeping one. They have the H59 reticle. I would be willing to part with one when they come in if anyone is interested.

I appreciate the offer but I want the MIL-R. The Horus is too busy for me.

I love Nightforce, but man they really need to get on the ball and build some scopes. The concept of waiting for a freaking scope for a year is beyond me.

I was in the same boat, I recently got a GAP10 and wasn't willing to wait for the beast, which is what I wanted after much deliberation. But of course they aren't available and I have no idea of when they will be. So I decided to buy a Bushnell XRS to use for now and will possibly just sell it when the Beasts are available if I still want it.

I even ordered the Tenebraex 56mm for the Beast in anticipation. If only there was a SPUHR available that would fit, I'm thinking possibly one of the mounts that'll work with the USO TPAL??

The NF rep actually came in here and said they already have enough preorders for over a year and they are no longer taking orders. I was the FIRST to order from eurooptic. You can have mine for 6k lol. Just kidding. Nothing I hate worse than a damn gouger!

They build them to order and there is no sense in hiring a bunch of people to meet demand of one scope just to fire them 6 months later once demand is met. Are you new to this industry? That is quite an asinine statement.

Yea I suppose you are right. I have been buying and waiting on firearms for years so I suppose I'm just used to it. I was pretty pissed my first wait too.

I agree they need to step it up if it is going to take that long. I would not normally wait a year but this thing is bad ass. There doesn't seem to be anything that really compares to it.

Yep fucking brand new, only been shooting for 37 years.

People buy what they can get, Nightforce will lose sales to companies that put stock on dealers shelves. I am retired mil, I can buy a Zeiss or Leupold 34/35mm scope for wholesale any day I want via their programs. Why would I get sores in my ass pining for the first over 30mm scope Nightforce has ever made, when 3 or 4 other folks have been doing it for years.

I love Nightforce, but this Aussie-American half cocked program they have leaves a lot to be desired.

Tuesday night I finally saw a ATACR Mil scope on a buddy of mines 22LR Walther. He helped Nightforce get on our local 1000 yard range, and they sold him a prodeal for something like half off. It's a beautiful scope and even shooting at almost 11pm it was clear and bright. But any scope with a $3000 plus price tag is going to be, and 99% of them are setting on dealers shelves without the wait.

No sense? Country X calls Nightforce and says "well take 300 Beast scopes, with delivery in 2 months", and you are telling me they shouldn't hire assemblers they have to fire. I guess you don't like money.

The problem is that shortfalls like this produce an increase in competition. Look at what Manners has done to McMillan, and even Manners is behind. Someone else will step in with a superior product that has the ability to get shit out the door. Surgeon is another example, and other machine shops like Defiance have stepped up and said "no problem, shipping tomorrow".

A piece of unobtanianum in a box might as well a piece of shit in a box with a guarantee on it. What happens when you wait a year for a scope, and then they send you a bad one? How happy are you going to be then?

What is assinine is people like you who accept this kind of behavior from a company. The world of guns has never been as fucked up as it is right now, and acceptance is part of the problem.

+1 on that brother. Just sold my MRAD when their latest update for release on the conversion barrels went from end of 1st QT to end of Fall(Already 2 years). And you're right, the more lenient we become the greater the wait times. Why even take orders or take peoples money before the product hits the shelf? I've been jaded with this concept and will never fall for it again.

Are you sure retired military can get the Leupold discount? It says active duty on their website.

It's always been hurry up and wait for most quality products-S&B, USO, DTA SRS A1, MRAD conversions, suppressors and the battle for scarce ammo. The popularity of this sport has really expanded in recent years just aggravating these issues!

I have great news! Jason at eurooptic.com is able to hook me up with a Beast this fall so I placed an order.

I'm not sure about the other products you mentioned but in the case with the MRAD....it was launched as a conversion style rifle and in the 2 years that it has been offered and readily available there are no conversion barrels available. In essence it is a 98B with a folding stock for an additional 2K. NF has taken money without the "BEAST" ever being on the shelf and I hope for everyone's sake who has given their hard earned money that it is available when they say without issues.

I hope it all falls as planned too. As far as issues go Nightforce is well known for having a reliable product. That is one of the main reasons I chose to go with them. With the Beast they appear to have top tier glass, some interesting bells and whistles, and I hope legendary Nightforce reliability.

That's great you were able to be squeezed in for a Fall delivery.

I'd love to join you guys in voting with my money to not support companies that can't meet demand. Unfortunately there is nothing of quality that meets that criteria nowadays. It's just best to think ahead of what you may possibly want in the next couple years and go ahead and order it. If you change your mind, no big deal. Someone will take it. It's not like they make you pay 100% while you wait. Most don't need any money down and the worst is 10%.

Eurooptic had me put 20% down, which I was happy to do to guarantee an early BEAST. If I'm not impressed, always easy to turn around and sell it. Have not yet been disappointed with anything I have ordered and waiting for, since I do exhaustive research before ordering. Love my MRAD and plan to keep it, but after waiting a year for conversions finally ordered a DTA SRS A1 in 308, since many barrel conversions available. However, still need to wait for most, since they have been slammed with the recent popularity of their fine weapons.

For those who choose not to order and wait, fine with me! No skin off my back. You'll not know what your missing. To each his own. I love this sport and humanly killing all that paper and steel at long range.

I'll buy one after it comes out and everyone is happy with them..........after they're tested and pro's outweigh the cons. I'm sure there will be guys who have ordered and will either cancel or sell off. That's the best solution for someone like me who doesn't want to invest in uncertainty. Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

From my knowledge retired mil is a one time deal from luppy

Kind of horseshit that the active duty kid that will spend 4 years playing Xbox in a barracks in Nebraska then get out to use his GI bill gets more love than the guys that spent 20plus years standing the watch.

Leupold is no longer on Promotive, this changes every couple weeks though. Not sure what the deal is.

Promotive has retired mil as the same as active mil.

Zeiss and Bushnell are on promotive full time. Though the discount on Bushnell is pretty abysmal. The Zeiss discount is legendary.

Opinions like this crack me up. If synthetic stocks and rifle scopes were such easy items to make to McM/ Manners Nightforce/ S & B quality, how come no other new companies have made the step? Maybe there are a lot more problems to simply ramping up production to meet demand than you know of. Facilities, qualified employees, even supplies are all very expensive and difficult to get within a few months to make a dent in a backlog. Do you think Nightforce can go to its glass supplier and say, "hey, we got a years worth of orders for the new beast/ atacr/ whatever, can you deliver us double or triple the glass in our normal time frame?" I don't think so. What happens when they buy a new facility to meet production and two years from now when sales take a dive they have an expensive property bill to make on a monthly basis? Or machine lease costs?

What exactly do you think customers are supposed to do if they won't accept a wait time? go buy a swfa scope?

Zeiss, Swarovski, Hendsolt, Burris, IOR, there are more options out there.

I think they do this bullshit on purpose. And man I'll tell you I love Nightforce, they make great products here in Australia people lose their minds over the company. Then again it's an Australian-American company owned by an Australian with (assembly plants) in Japan, Australia and the USA. BUT! they puposely increase the g-whiz factor on their stuff by limiting production.

We live in a consumer based society, exactly why do you think consumers should care about a companies internal supply chain and manufacturing issues? Either a company sells a product or they don't, either they have it or they don't. Yes some people will wait around for some hope to be released date but my opinion is that the vast majority of customers want or need something in a certain time frame, if there are viable alternatives which in this case there are, they will most certainly buy what they want when they need it and not just wait around hoping. It happens in all industries with a variety of products, if company A has a great product for sale now, most consumers will buy it now to the detriment of company B that just has promises. How do you think Microsoft lost so badly to Apple, they were and are repeatedly late to market and people buy what is available.

Who wouldn't wait for this? ;)

Does anyone have news on when this scope is going to be released to the public? I wish a Nightforce rep would chime in and give an accurate date and insight to what the hold up is. I am tired of dreaming about this thing.

THe sales reps don't know much more than us on delivery dates at this point.

I have posted more than once, you'll probably see some pre orders around XMAS and more will follow after. If by some chance they start to trickle out sooner. Bonus.

But I have said this several times

They are starting to trickle out to some that have connections. I shot with a good friend that has a Mil-R reticle Beast last weekend. Very nice scope. The elevation turret is huge, but you get used to it very quickly. They are probably the nicest scope out there.

Great to hear! Hopefully, more of us will be blessed in the next 2-3 months.

I hate resurrecting my old thread and I hate asking this but.
What's the latest news on when the masses will receive one of these?
I pre ordered one from Euro Optics. Has anyone received one from them?

I picked mine up from sport optics 2 weeks ago... Their coming.

have heard it not getting very good reviews, wait maybe i shouldnt have said that, i may dissappe.........
