Took my stock to get Multicam hydrodipped back in July. They could never get it right, excuse after excuse. Well, finally today it was ready. I picked it up and, well, have a look...

It's fugly up close but works fine at a distance.

Oh I'm sorry dude, I think my kid might have painted that. Jokes aside that looks pretty amateur. Just get some duracoat one color and spray the whole thing solid. Easy and very robust.

Lol. That's what I said, my 5 year I old daughter could have done that. I'm sanding, and sanding, and sanding, and sanding some more to remove this crap. Going to throw some OD Green paint on it and shoot. What a waste of 6 weeks.

Sir,

With all do respect I am sorry someone wasted your time. That stock does not look as if it was Hydrodipped but rather painted... If you would like it done in MultiCam as in the MultiCam that you were looking for, please let me know. I have actual MultiCam film in stock. Dont let one bad apple ruin the whole bunch!

Regards,

BGE

It looks like it was painted on, except for the lettering near the sling point. What the hell did they do?

It looks like they hand painted the pattern in places with a craft paintbrush. A total farce if they sold you a dip.

May just be the pictures but is that white where the tan should be? It's like a Multicam with some snow camo thrown in.

you definitely got hoodwinked! When my Cadex was dipped they had all kinds of trouble but eventually got it right. There really is no excuse for what they did to your stock. I hope that you didn't pay for it. Best of luck with a remedy, its always tragic when something like this happens

I get the feeling that they did dip it. It probably came out with tears or voids in the finish and they tried to cover it up by painting the disturbed parts.
I feel bad for you. It isn't the worst thing I've ever seen, but it surely doesn't look like a quality dip job.

Hopefully you can get your money back.

I will get it coated again, and definitely will keep you in mind. Thank you.

Yeah, thats been painted, they did not dip that stock. Multicam Hydro film has the Crye Precision Multicam trademark embedded in it.

Thats an abortion....did you get your money back?

looks beat up already i use a guy here in town ill take some pics of my bow that i had done in orange carbon fiber and get them on here. he does really nice work and it was pretty cheap compared to other guys

I am tagging this thread to talk to you about it. I don't have my new stock yet, but you will be hearing from me. I would like some details.

Send it to "Shortbus" or "30calsniper" from on here - they do awesome paint work & will hook you up!!

I'm no expert but I have a friend who does this. He is a hide member so maybe he will comment. I would say they did not paint the right base color underneath and probably used some cheap Chinese pattern rather than buying a sheet of genuine multicam.

Looks airsoftish, too much white and alot of Case IH red. Definitely saw and done better krylon jobs.

Do they do Cerakote on stocks? Thought that was just metal parts.

It looks like a dip with SOME kind of film, just not original multicam. In one of your stock pics it says something like 'warfa..'before it goes under the sling mount. Did you make sure you specified genuine Multicam? Either way they should have had a sample to show.

I'm sorry but your stock looks awful. Also isn't "hyprodipping" in "multicam" something that is trademarked like cerekote? In that you can't legally offer "cerekoting" services unless you are a cerekoting dealer stocking genuine "cerekote"

I know its not MC but here is some ATACs then clears. This is what the Finished Product SHOULD look like. FWIW.

I mean no rudeness, but my thoughts are:
1. If you paid a premium for a dip, take it back with your evidence of what a dip should look like and politely but firmly request it be fixed at their expense.
2. I hope you went to them before complaining and looking for support from an Internet forum
3. Did you want a wall hanger or a workhorse? I'd rather have an accurate gun that could go to hell and back without me crying about a paint job...
Just my .02¢... no insult intended

I don't want them to have it anymore. It's been almost two months of going back and forth with these guys. It's obviously beyond their skill level or know how. I just want a refund.

I'm not mentioning their name here, so that doesn't even matter. Just sharing my experience. Now, if they don't refund me, that could change...

I don't want a wall hanger, but I do want what I paid for. I live in the desert. I have vast open areas here that you could easily max out any rifle. No shooting range for me. I will use this rifle, just like all of my other guns, the same way I have used them all of my life. Shooting and hunting in the desert.

Wow, that's unreal. It's aholes like that that do that type of shoddy work that make it even harder to get folks to call painters like Todd and I. I've talked to a few people that had really bad first experiences, and trying to convince them that that wouldn't happen with me took some work.

Everyone's trying to 'cash in' on the hydrographics.

Gimme a call tomorrow.

I would give Branden(Short-bus) a call. Haven't had him do my stock yet, but look at his webpage. Topnotch work cant wait for him to do the final finsish to my build. It's a damn shame to spend hard earned money, and get that in return.

That excuse makes me want to stomp baby kittens to death.

I would want what I paid for. If I beat it to death from there, that's my business. If I dint care about what my rifle looked like in the first place, I'd just paint it myself and pocket the cash.

My thoughts exactly, including the baby kittens.

It was done incorrectly for sure. For my money I would send it to a reputable applicator and request my money back from the other group.

If you really want to step it up a notch, call Branden for some custom paint. The stuff he puts out (along with Todd) is crazy! Detail work with paint will always looks better on a fiberglass stock then any hydro dip.
