Since it probably isn't appropriate to hit "Like" for an image like this... I'll simply say that I hold it and the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines it represents in reverence. Thanks veterans! You, more than anyone, know that freedom isn't free.

In greatest respect,

Sirhr

I think people would understand what you mean when you "like" the post. I completely understand your reasoning though.

Reminds me of this. Brings tears to my eyes, it's truly depressing watching whats left of the best generation of men this country has seen, whither away. They don't make em like that anymore. I'm not referring to soldiers i just mean in general.

Yep, hands down one of the best videos I have ever watched and no matter how many times I see it I always get a little shook up...

Brought some tears to the eyes this morning. Only wish I could show this to my students today and not be reprimanded. Only a few of them would have the same respect and understanding I have of it though. Society just doesn't teach about true heros and our greatest generation nearly as much as our country needs it.

In that BBC page with the funeral story is another interesting story about a MI6 spy whose body was found "padlocked inside a sports bag in the bathroom of his hotel", and the death was ruled accidental! WTF??? Investigator claimed it was theoretically possible for him to padlock himself into the bag from the inside. Right, old bean.

Well when the government is going the autopsy, then anything is possible.........

Got something in my eye must be dusty in here.

I have to say, that really hits me hard. I am currently trying to get down to my family. Visiting my wife and son every other weekend is extremely tough. I can't imagine going an entire deployment not seeing them. I managed to make it down for his first cub scout campout, and I didn't want to turn loose of his hand when I had to leave.

My new girlfriend, she doesn't know yet though.

LMFAO!!!

I'm not sure what more disturbing....
A) That I recognize the firing line
B) That I vaguely recognize the shooters
C) That ~15 years later, the photo shows up in a random (non-FL based) forum, as a demotivational poster.

That's from the left side of the firing line.

I heard that when the mayor of Toronto gives you the "key" to the city... it weighs about 2.3 pounds.

Sean the Nailer... c'mon, give us the prairie province perspective on this... Bob and Doug never saw this coming, did they? Back bacon, beer, tooks, and Bolivian Marching Powder!!! Tabernaq dere Crockett? My Testarossa don't go so good in da slush, eh? ;-)

Cheers,

Sirhr

For those who have been under a rock lately, this is the mayor of Toronto. Not his only gem, just one of the better ones of late.
